Don't look for The Lone Ranger in Frontierland.

Yeah and think of how promising they were on having a Prince of Persia in Adventureland or a John Carter in Tommorowland (Or someplace...Eh just toss him in DHS in a corner where no one pays attention to)..They seem to be trying too hard to market these films by making them so elaborate and it just flops in the box office..

A while back, some were speculating that if "The Lone Ranger" is a hit, that there might be a Frontierland tie-in.

Looks doubtful. http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2013-07-08/how-disneys-grave-diggers-will-bury-the-lone-ranger

I can't imagine any Lone Ranger proposals ever got serious traction. I don't know if anyone at Disney truly expected it to set the world on fire to the point that an attraction would be on the table. If Oz can't cut it for the parks at half a billion worldwide, LR certainly won't at whatever sum it scrapes in.

Disney won't even pull the trigger on Iron Man for DL, which would be a surefire attendance-spiking slam dunk if there ever was such a thing.

He's sort of there already, in Disneyland anyway.

Why do people keep forgetting the Foreign markets that lap up these? Only 4 of the big foreign markets have had the premiers - Russia, Italy, Australia and South Korea. No China/Japan/UK/India/France, etc. If by the time all international premiers happen and if it appears they are in profit just from box office receipts.

They could put the Lone Ranger show they were testing to do on the rooftops of Frontierland.

Personally I enjoyed both Prince of Persia and John Carter. John Carter especially didn't get the praise or box office numbers it deserved because it was marketed poorly. I still plan on seeing Lone Ranger, but it's not as high a priority due to the bad reviews.

They put $250million into this movie...they were hoping/needing this to be a smash hit.

I didn't see the movie but I want to see it. It looks fun.

The problem with this one is the theme though. Foreign markets aren't exactly going to lap up the "American Western."

Yes they are though France loves the Wild West hence why there is a Wild West dinner show in their version of Downtown Disney @ Paris. Japan loves everything American, also Indians do love the old style Western films. Also most foreign markets like seeing stuff blow up. And the film hasn't come out in those 3 markets yet.

Those 3 markets will not compensate for the horrible opening domestically.
(And I think those numbers will also come in well under expectations as well).

Think all with box office numbers one would think that "film critics" would wait at least a month to see how its performed before crying the words "bomb", however saying all that Lone Ranger is a terribly boring film. Especially as this was the creative team that gave us Pirates - I was expecting less talky talky and more TNT and explosions.
