A friend of mine just emailed me that she had heard that the price of Dole Whips had been raised to $4.20 and as such no longer qualified as being a snack credit on the Dining Plan. This would be a disaster! Can anyone confirm or shoot down this rumor. Dole whips are the ultimate snack!:slurp:

At WDW you can get Dole Whips in the MK at Adventureland. There is a kiosk just on the right after you enter adventure land. Seems to open up about 11am or so. The Dole Whips (in our oppinion at least :) ) are better at WDW than at DL as they mix the Pineapple ice with Vannilla Icecream at WDW. THAT can't be beat. I've heard that they also have Dole Whips over at AK but we don't know where yet. We have a scouting party of friends going in 2 wks who have been sworn go on Safari in AK to locate the rumored Dole Whip sighting!

The only 2 locations at WDW that I know of where Dole Whips are available are Aloha Isle in AL and Captain Cooks at the Poly.

I blame the Internet for the price increase. Just a few years ago no one even knew what a Dole Whip was now they are they are the hottest thing since sunburn.

I guess we can expect the price of Figaro fries to go up next.

Was just at the Dole stand in Adventurland yesterday gettin' my fix.

A soft serve Dole Whip ice cream (or, for the boring, a vanilla or chocolate ice cream) is $2.89 USD and is included as a snack on the plan.

A Pineapple Float (delicious - my fave) of fresh pineapple juice and Dole Whip soft serve is $3.99 USD, which is $4.25 exactly after tax. It is still a snack on the DDP. There was the little purple square designating it as a snack on the plan. I was complaining to my mom about it, cause when DH and I first went to WDW with the free dining, it wasn't a snack yet and I had to pay cash grr...

But, rest soundly. Dole Whip soft serve and Pineapple Floats are still snacks as of yesterday.

To note...

Strawberry and Citrus Swirls also are sold in the MK. Strawberry Swirls come from the Garden Grove place around the corner from Pooh, facing Cosmic Rays. Citrus Swirls are sold at the umm.. place outside of the Tiki Room that faces Aladin's carpets. What is it called? The Tahitian Terrace?

Incase there was any confusion - Citrus Swirls are orange, not lemon nor lime, or grapefruit or any other sort of citrus. Just orange.

Please be right about this. DW and I have been talking about using our snack credits for Dole Whips since we booked our trip this year (since they weren't an option last year). We're leaving TOMORROW! I'll be so disappointed if they're not an option.

Oh, I'm right. I have perfect vision :p but I can't guarantee that the board was wrong. There was a gentleman next to me getting a Pineapple Float and a bag of chips on the DDP. I remembered it because I thought it was a terrible combination.

If you mean me - the Strawberry Swirl and Citrus Swirl are very close to a Dolewhip. Instead of pineapple, they're strawberry and orange flavors swirled into vanilla soft serve.

I had the strawberry and it is more like sherbet than ice cream. If you taste just the strawberry part, it is VERY tart. But mixed with the smooth sweet vanilla it is yummy.
