When i went to Disney last August me and my cousin got Dole Whips FREE as much as we wanted no cast member said a word!! So when you stay at the Polynesian Try to take advantage

Dole whips aren't a beverage...

Beverages are the only 'free' refills with the refillable mugs...

Having stayed at the Poly in '08, the Dole Whip dispenser is self-serve and located at the beverage island in Captain Cooks. (Courtesy of Tikiman's site):

Since it is self-serve and located at the beverage island and not behind the counter, I can understand how it might be misunderstood as being free. However, the DDP symbol is clearly visible on the dispenser.

Maybe because it is the same free beverage that you are entitled to with your mug, it is simply in a frozen form.

Well, since there are shrubberies out in the open, I think I am going to get all I want and redo my flowerbeds after my next trip. They must be free, right?

If it's in the beverage island and not near where the ice cream sundaes are, would it be part of the refillable mugs? Unless there was a sign saying that it wasn't ? Just a question, I have never stayed at the Poly.

1. Disney distributes mugs saying "help yourself to free drinks"

2. Disney places Dole Whip fountain in open area unattended but doesn't consider product a "drink," hopes a symbol many people probably have never seen will make this clear

3. Customer with mug sees fountain, considers Dole Whip a "drink," helps self

The Dole whip machine is near the grab and go market and ice cream cooler. It isn't near the beverage island.

I'm fairly certain that Disney doesn't intend for the refillable mugs to be used for Dole whips. The price is on the sign on the machine. I wouldn't recommend anyone else attempt using the mugs for the Dole whip, at the very least you could be faced with a very embarrassing situation should you be confronted by a cast member. :shrug:

Obviously, this thread is going to go the way that all threads of this type go. So- to avoid any additional ugliness I'm closing it now.
