Does EPCOT need a breakfast restaurant?

Where do you usually eat breakfast at EPCOT?
We like to be at a park when it opens, go in and ride a few big rides, and then eat breakfast.
That works well at all the parks except EPCOT.
We used to eat at The Garden Grill and it was great but they now longer do breakfast.
Years ago, many years, World Showcase opened at the same time as Future World. It was possible to walk back to France and have breakfast at the pastry shop.

These days it seems that EPCOT isn't really set up for breakfast people even though it has many resaurants.
Where do you eat?

It would be great if The Garden Grill started serving breakfast again. Farmer Mickey was there, too, along with Pluto and Chip&Dale.
Tks.

OK this reply won't be of any help to you, but your post reminded me of something. My wife took a trip back in '97. One day we were at Epcot for rope drop. It wasn't crowded, so we decided to look for breakfast first thing. If I remember right we couldn't really find breakfast, but we found a place where you could get coffee with a terrace fountain view. So we ordered our usual flavored coffee -- amaretto. Well it was quite a surprise when we took our first sip and discovered the flavoring wasn't syrup! There we were drinking first thing in the morning -- that day ended up being a lot of fun as I recall.

If they decide to follow your suggestion of opening places for breakfast service... let's hope they are not placed anywhere near M/S. :hurl:

Hmmmm....I'm pretty sure I've eaten breakfast at the Electric Umbrella. They don't go out of their way to let you know it's open at thathour though. We barely saw the little "A-frame" sign in the walkway.

You could get omelettes, breakfast bagel sandwiches, french toast sticks, hashbrowns, and bacon or sausage.

I think they switch-over to lunch early though....maybe 10:30-ish???....:veryconfu

Still, I agree....a Garden Grill family style restaurant for breakfast would be GREAT!

Sunshine Seasons became Future World's main breakfast location this past June. The Electric Umbrella no longer serves breakfast items. Seasons' breakfast is very tasty. :slurp:

I think a breakfast all day long place would be great!

OH I have the best idea ever for a place just like that in World Showcast....IHOP!! It even fits the theme:ROFLOL:

But yes they should have some place for breakfast there.

What time is the Norway breakfast? I thought WC didn't open until 11...?

You must have a reservation and there is a check point en route to Norway where a CM checks a list to see if you have a ressie. This is what was in place the last time we went a couple of years ago.

It would be nice if the counter service place in Mexico would servce breakfast tacos. That would be all kinds of cool.

i agree that the garden grill had such a great breakfast and i for one really wish they would bring it back. i really like this restaurant for all of their meals but i am a breakfast kind of girl so i really enjoyed everything about it. i may be biased because on our honeymoon our server remarried us in front of the whole restaurant-this is one of my fav wdw memories.

i think that maybe there isn't a lot of breakfast options at epcot because only half of the park is open during traditional breakfast hours. i personally have noticed that it seems like the park doesn't begin to pick up until about 10 or so in the morning, shortly before ws opens.

i would like to try the norway breakfast....is it norwegian food or traditional breakfast fare?

Disney is missing out on a lot of revenue by not having the Garden Grill open for breakfast. Now that Soar'n is drawing vast numbers of people into The Land building, that restaurant is very much in the main stream of traffic.

They could even rename it, if desired.
Maybe call it 'Farmer Mickey's' (he's dressed like a farmer there),
or if the menu fits, call it 'Breakfast All Day'.

I forget the name but there is a small cafe near fountains that has pastry items. In addition if you ride "a few" attractions after the 9 Am opening, the various counter service spots in world showcase would be open, French pastry etc. There are some choices..

We prefer to breakfast in our villa, have a resonable counter service lunch then, sit down dinner,
