Does anybody know about IOA's new island

No one knows a thing about a new island for IOA. I really doubt it is going to happen though, because they don't have enough land for a new island. What they could do is tunnel under the highway and expand the park across the street, but that is just wild speculation on my part.

But don't worry, I hear that something BIG will be coming to IOA soon, and I doubt many will be dissappointed. :animwink:

I agree....where would they put it? An expansion would be great, but going across the street would kinda kill the whole "island" theme don't you think?

IoA will for sure have a new MAJOR attraction for 2003...... what exactly, no one is sure, but itll probably be in Jurassic Park..... im guessing either the much rumored "Jeep Ride", a B&M Flying Coaster or an Intamin Impulse Coaster..... just MHO

I'm sad to report that the Jeep Ride is for all intents and purposes dead. But what is going in, well, I sure it's not what everyone is expecting....

With the two new attractions going up at USF in 2003, I cannot imagine IOA will be putting anything new in before 2004. Based on the estimated costs for Shrek and Jimmy Newtron at the Studios, and Vivendi's latest stock problems, it is hard to believe that another major attraction could be funded.

Believe it. They've made too many promises (you'd be surprised at how much UO has been sweet talking the chamber of commerce lately) to back out now.

Also, remember that 50% of Universal Orlando is owned by Blackstone, an outside firm. They could pick up the tab on some of the expenses, and if not, there are many companies that would love to sponsor an attraction.

What I can't figure out is how they will get this thing up and running by Summer 2003...

Technically, they could built another Island. After all, the current ones are man-made, so if they need to destroy and construct, they'll be doing it.

IOA is right there. Just above his name.

But where is name is.... thats where they have the new Pacific hotel that just opened.

Remember, Universal got a lot of land from Lockheed Martin. According to the master plan they have room for 2 PARKS, 4 hotels, and golf. So I think they have plently of room.

Is the Lockheed Martin land bought by Universal around the resort because i don't see any empty space except for the land next to IOA and it's being divided by a highway. Does anyone have a map showing the new land purchased from Mr Martin? lol:hammer:

The Lockheed land is further south beside I-Drive. They are still clearing it out.

>>>Phenix, cant u just tell us what u know?<<<

No. It is nothing that a few hundred insiders couldn't know, but there are still jobs on the line if specifics on new additions get out. I already know of one CM that was terminated for spreading "privilaged" information on the net.

I think that all that will be added to IoA is more attractions. The park would kind of be ruined (or at least an island) if it wasn't touching the inland sea...

They would be better off building another park in all of that land. That way, they could make money off of another park with $50 admissions...
