Do you think Disney will finally fix the Yeti after Universal opens their new King Kong ride?

I have to compliment you that you can discuss it as a civilized person (unlike some other immature ones who feel you have to agree with them). Everyone's entitled to their opinion on it. If it really enhanced the ride for you and you miss it, I get that and why you'd want to see it working again. Personally I didn't think much of it when it was working. But that's just me.

It obviously doesn't matter. It's been broken for 9 years. This falls in the "good enough" category for Disney. Which is a company that sold it's pride to Wall Street. They are not going to fix it because "it's right thing to do". They are letting it sit broken "because they can." And their faithful nutters will defend it until the end of time.

Exactly right.

If DiscoYeti is as good as full motion Yeti, then why are they still using full motion Yeti in their current marketing material?

I would LMAO if they put DiscoYeti in a commercial.

What is lost by the yeti figure being fixed? What is gained by the yeti figure remaining static? Even if one does not really care or notice, why be upset over there being more show elements to enjoy?

Lost: Absolutely NOTHING. (On the ride you still hear and see the Yeti - in shadow and animatronic.)

Gained: A split-second of animatronic movement. (Yet, for some reason it means the world to people. Go figure.)

You are right that it means something to people. It means a lot to people. "What" it means to them is bigger than a broken AA. It is a visual reminder of a broken dream.

It means something to very few people......considering the likelihood that most riders don't know that it was supposed to move or don't care that it doesn't move. If it means something to someone, it's to someone who places more importance on the minutiae that may be off rather than the excellence of the overwhelming majority of the attraction as a whole.
