Do you prefer lands or pavilions?

Do you prefer the classic set up of MK where the park is split between 5 main lands MSUSA, AL, FRL, FL, TL, or they way Epcot is set up with only two lands with different pavilions. With there being more pavilions, the pavilions having different themes with only a few atrractions? I dont really consider DHS because the way it is laid out seems to be a cluster you know what.

hands down I like the lands better. I think there is more themeing and the rides all focus around it. The lands are sort of secluded by themslves so it give the illusion you have really gone to a different place and left florida behind.

With the way epcot is you can see the next county or look accross the lagoon and see totaly different themes. nt very convincing you have escaped to another world. not saying it isnt good that way, i just like the land setup OVER world showcase

Lands are more immersing, but Epcot is supposed to be different. You're not supposed to really be in those countries; you're simply supposed to enjoy the culture.

Lands, most certainly. No question.

To me, this is a MK vs. Epcot question more than anything. So I say MK. Lands. Which ever answer you prefer.

To be honest I think they both work.

Epcot seams more spaced out because of the pavilions and once you enter them it feels like your in a new environment. Emersed in themed attractions, eaterys and decor. Pavilions really create a good ambiance, especially if your trying to create the illusion of being in a different place. The main problem with pavilions is the only real way to change a ride out is a pavilion overhaul or match the new attraction COMPLETLY to the current theme. Something that lands dont have to focus on as much.

For MK the thing that works best is lands for sure. You get that real theme park feel, while at the same time, feeling like your in a different area. Adventureland feels different than tomorrowland not just because of the rides, but because of the archetecture and vegitation. But also with lands they have a lot more latitude with attractions, while still keeping the same themed area. Like tomorrowland has changed a lot over the ages, but it still works (imo) b/c its a land.

I am a fan of lands. I love the theming throughout which is why I like lands better. Nothing wrong with pavilions or anything but to me the lands are what really sticks out.

Nothing better than strolling through MK and entering a completely different setting just by taking a few steps.

I will have to say the lands but I agree that each set up works with each park. In the MK you feel like your transported to a different enviornment with each land. While at EPCOT the pavillions work because it's not really about the surroundings but the attractions themselves.

If it is set up as a true pavilion (WOL, The Land) than I prefer pavilions. If it is like TT, M:S or UoE, I do would rather have a land.

Why does UoE have noting at the exit, shops, interactive enviroment, resturant, etc?

Imagine a mission space restaurant. Id eat it!

Yea I don't really consider UOE a pavilion because there is nothing but the ride so I consider it a ride same as MS because all it had is a giftshop. The Land, seas, imagination, and TT all have either placed to eat activities, or exhibits after there attractions.

MS has a gift shop and a huge interactive pav including a REALLY fun game to see which team can repair there spaceship the quickest so needless to say, I consider it a pav

I feel like MS has more to offer then TT. With TT they had a lil watch and spin thing after (which is gone now but they keep re-filling the space). Besides that, its a showroom for there sponsor and a giftshop the size of MS's. I walk right through TT's, but with MS i actually stop and take a look or jump in line, or go on a comp and try to do one of the many space games they have.

But if we're compairing it to like the lands or anything, i dont think it lives up to that. Having multiple attractions, gift shops, resturants, and interactive games (which actually the land doesnt have to my knowledge), is more 'pavilioney'

I like the lands because it's fun to have an entire area of the same theming...but i also like the pavilions!
imo, they have more leeway to veer from the theming when it comes to land.

example is MILF. People don't think it fits tomorrowlands 'theme', but looking at the trends of the attractions and look over the years, tomorrowlands theme hasnt remained the same. They keep modernizing the theme to peak guests interests with the attractions they add in there.

But with a pav it seams like the attractions HAVE to fit the theme, or else the pav gets destroyed and a new one emerges, or they just overhaul the inside. Maybe im wrong thats just how i see it

WOL is the ultimate example of what a pavilion should be. You walked into this huge space which was all themed to one concept. Once inside you had the option of visiting an E-ticket attraction, a D-ticket attraction, and various other attractions. It also offered a place to dine. If every pavilion was built like that, imagine what EPCOT would be like.

I think The Land is like this if not better. It has an Eticket Soarin (I know it's loosly based on the land) I'm not sure what ticket the land is but it has that multiple food choices and a theater.

Agreed, i really think the land is the appatamy (sp) of a pav. Soarin, living with the lands, a theater, shops, a sit down restaurant, a counter service restaurant. How could they make it any better?

Maybe adding an update to the theater or having a larger centralized store or possibly an interactive enviroment as you walk into the land, like compuiters on the wall and different stuff people can do on the upper floor besides walk into the theater. Those things aside, I still think they did a really great job on it.
