Hi! I love musicals...although I haven't seen a lot....I still love em! Let me know what you think of em.

That sounds neat! I was in chorus once... in the 4th grade.
I quit because all we did was sing the beach boys. Not that I have anything against them...just try hearing their songs over and over again. They were pimp daddies though. They lived in a world where there was 2 girls for every boy. did you know that john stamos(Uncle jessie)was their drummer in a video? Where was I going with this? Oh yes! My school takes the plays to competition. We placed 5th in the state once. It goes all the way to nationals. It's a very exciting time for me! Try being Follow Spot once...its fun. Hey I found another cool trading spaces pic.. I'm gonna go post it in the thread.

I have a musical for you all that I bet many haven't seen. I actually found this video for sale at a store that was going out of business. It's "Lil' Abner" the musical. It has Billy Hayes, Stella Stevens (I think, or Stevenson..brains not working) and Julie Newmar is also in it. I think it's a cute show.

I LOVE musicals! So do Maria and Angeligue... so they should be jumping in at any moment! My favorite is Phantom. :sohappy: I've never seen any on Broadway~ just in Chicago.

LOL! Yeah! I also love Phantom of the Opera... my favorite one... I´ve seen it twice in NY.

The ones I remember I´ve seen now are Beauty and the Beast, Grease, Les Miserables, Stomp (more rythm than music, but still great), and The Lion King (in NY too... the most expensive ticket of my life, but soooo worth it!). :animwink:

Sorry I'm popping in late Erika but due to the fact my parents are back from vacation I once again have NO computer time. Yes I LOVE musicals (have a nice cd collection.. not obsessive, just nice :) ) Phantom is the BEST .. so are Rent and Aida and Lion King and BandB and.. um.. okay so I love most of the music... I even have some avant guarde type musical cds that are AWESOME!

Ya know, the "South Park" movie was really a musical. It had lots of catchy songs, like "Blame Canada," "Mmm-Kay," and "Uncle F****." :D

Has anyone's school performed that one?

Musicals? Gotta love them!

On Stage: Sound of Music, The Music Man, My Fair Lady, Annie, Fiddler on the Roof, etc., etc., etc. - wonderful!

But the BEST Musicals have to be Disney films...:animwink:

Have you seen "Brigadoon"? Gene Kelly is in it! :) Our school did it this year. It was lot of fun. But trying to keep the accent (spell?) was a little hard.

MUSICALS!?!

I'm an elementary school music teacher and write my own (at least two a school year, but sometimes four).

I was in these in high school: The Mikado, Brigadoon, Bye Bye Birdie and the King and I.

I saw these on Broadway: Cats, The Wiz, 1776, Fiddler On the Roof, and Promises, Promises.

WDW*Babe - here's my best Brigadoon story: when we did the show back in high school, we waited until the dress rehearsal to use the rented fog machines to make it look like Brigadoon was re-appearing from the haze. All went well. Unfortunately, during the opening night performance, the stage crew got a bit too aggressive with the fog, and the entire show was invisible to the audience! (Our school newspaper gave us a good review anyway, heh heh heh...):hammer:
