Yeah, I posted this before. Our last trip was right after my second cancer surgery in two years. When I got the diagnosis I said to my wife; "screw it we're going to Disney." She said, Okay. I really think it was the best Disney trip we ever had. I have an appointment with my oncologist tomorrow. Not sure what to wish for? :ROFLOL:

Awww, I'll be praying everything goes well and that you get to plan a celebratory trip this time around! :)

We've never had the money to just up and go to WDW. I wish we did!! Although, the money we have saved for this trip, we've had since this year's tax return, but didn't go sooner because of hubby's deployment. We really wanted to go on his R&R and surprise the kids, but we decided it would be too much on my husband.

(I didn't read through all of the posts so I apologize if I'm showing up to the party late)...

Yes, we have said, "Let's go to Disney today!"...and just gone.

We would up and go for long weekends when we lived on the Panhandle of Florida. Life was stressful at times and it was great to be so close and to get FL resident discounts. We always ended up at the crappy Seralago though, something I don't miss. But...it allowed us to go to Disney at the last minute!

What branch is your husband in? If he's a Marine tell him happy bithday and tell him I thank him for his service, one vet to another.

That's what me and my younger sister are doing next year. I had the reservations made at the end of August for the beginning of February for my 20th birthday. And I just finished paying it this morning. So if you wanna say, "What the heck! Let's go!!" just remember that it can be done. =)

I hope your appointment turned out good. I am a cancer survivor. Everytime I go to the dr. or for a test I kind of get a sick feeling until I hear the results.

The savings happened AFTER the trip was booked. Had there been an unfortunate incident or emergency that money that was being saving for the already booked trip would have been diverted elsewhere. So ya, still rather risky if you ask me.

If an emergency had happened in any case the trip would be cancelled. So what is the big deal.

You buy a car without paying for it first. Something could come up and you couldn't pay for it.............. etc.

I think I would rather just have a stocking at christmas - filled with an AP and trip ressies!
We could seriously use a "what the heck" trip right now, but that darn adult-responsible-side of the brain is running its mouth too much. I have even contemplated how to stay warn in a tent in Jan at FW because the RV is in winter storage :( Wanting to book a trip on Fri 11/11 was really bad because it was snowing outside my office windows:eek::eek: I'm not ready yet.

Yeah that does sound like a great stocking stuffer, but I don't think the hubby renewed out passes, and he is the more responsible , reasonable one when it comes to money.....I guess one of us needs to be LOL!

Thanks for all the good words I appreciate it and to be honest, I need the pep talk too. I just got back from my oncologist and I'll be getting an MRI of my head and a PET scan, which is a very high resolution CT scan. After that they'll biopsy the lymph node. It is in a difficult place and a thoracic surgeon will be doing it. After that oral chemo which will allow me to travel - look out Disney here I come. I've been thinking about what it is about the World that is so healing. It's a Dole Whip plus the Tower of Terror, that's the combination.

Thinking of you & praying all goes well!!!!
Keep the positive attitude:animwink:
