You made me think of that last episode of Newhart where Larry, his brother Darrel, and his other brogher Darrel come back to the Inn with their new wives, who they met in a casino in Atlantic City. When they introduced them, the women said "We're from LAWN GEYELAND!! :lol:

I grew up in rockland county (spring valley baby!), and im pretty sure wdw-imagineer still lives there ;)

No NY accents to be rubbed off there...its not like the bronx or brooklyn :)

The hard "g" in Long Island is more of a Nassau County thing, I think - not that there's anything wrong with that!!! I'm from Stony Brook, in Suffolk County.

Mad, my husband grew up in Suffern - not too far from you.

I have always had a moderate southern England accent, however according to my parents it got a LOT stronger when I went to university (just north of London, where no-one speaks like that :D ) yet I never noticed a thing. My mom calls me a Posh B astard :lol:

Now I'm in Montréal, my French accent has improved (only appears when I speak French) unfortunately it's picked up the Quebecois version - they don't pronounce the words "correctly" compared to what I am used to - French from France :brick:
