Do the parks seem to be competing?

No, seriously, what does it have to do with this thread?

My reason for bringing this thread up was how, in the past, attractions would typically show up in one park or another. In the past, many attractions, which, in California, were confined only to Disneyland, are scattered throughout the parks. At first, it was harmless enough (i.e., Captain EO in Epcot, Star Tours in the Studios), and even when the California Adventure came along, any attractions copied there, to or from Florida (i.e., Tower of Terror, Soarin'), were more or less attractions from non-castle parks only.

But now, with the Fantasyland expansion going on, attractions originally seen in non-castle parks are now making their way into the Magic Kingdom (i.e., Little Mermaid ride, Goofy-themed roller coaster (to a lesser degree)). Meanwhile, Toontown got the axe and everyone's insisting that it should be in the Studios.

This is all just my personal bias talking, that all the attractions are being scattered everywhere.

All of which is quite the leap from this:

"Does it seem like the parks seem to be designed to be "competing" with each other? By that, I mean, do you think that being as how they're designed as separate parks, they seem to be competing like that as well, seeing as how they all charge individual prices and having different, unequal pulls and whatnot?"

Bottom line, last time: they're all one company. All one set of parks, regardless if there is a Little Mermaid show at DHS and a ride coming to MK. Or a Nemo ride in EPCOT and a show at AK.

Again, not really sure what you're looking for here. But bringing up some book or complaining about replicated attractions (which aren't unique to DL and WDW, by the way) doesn't really address your OP. Either way, it's been answered, whether you like the responses you've received or not......

Yes, that proves conclusively that the parks are in direct cutthroat competition with each other. Consider that nail hit squarely on the head. Sorry anyone ever doubted you. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to make lint bunnies out of whatever I pull out of my navel.

What do you mean when you say something "got the axe?"

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I don't get what you're saying at all.

:brick:

Okay, here's what the term "sharpen the ax" means: Have a dispute to take up with someone or, to have an ulterior motive/ to have private ends to serve.

If the parks are all designed to compliment each other, why does it seem as though everyone has "favorites"? I myself have a favorite, which is Epcot.

What on earth does personal preferences have with anything (particularly your original question)?

And if you prefer the Big Mac over the double cheesburger at McDonald's...then those two items must be competing with each other as well. Yes?

I was just totally frustrated by the fact that everyone seems to see the parks not as one large park instead of several individual gates.
