Do Not Disturb

Has anyone noticed that the "Do Not Disturb" signs at the Disney Resorts have changed? You know, the little red plastic signs that you insert into the door lock. They now read "Privacy Please". I noticed this last year. Why did they do this? Bitte nicht stören. Ne pas déranger. Privado. Privacia Por Favor. Was it for international tastes?

The "do not disturb" signs at the Caribbean Beach have said "Privacy Please" since 1999. They had 2 kinds, the red plastic one for the door lock, and a rectangle magnetic one that stuck to the door! Hope this helps

 Sad, but true. My goal is for an "adults only" trip. Maybe someday.
You definately should do an adults only trip Tigsmom! I don't have any children as of yet, so all my trips are adults only(me and the wife). Its a completely different experience if you just go with your spouse, its much more relaxing. There is much romance to be found in WDW. I definately recommend it, its good for the marriage!:animwink:

P.S. Don't tell your kids when you go, they'll proably kill you for going without them. LOL!!! :hammer::lol:

I wanted to go next year for our 25th anniversary. I asked my daughter if there was anywhere she wouldn't want us to go without her and she only had two places. WDW and California! Well I guess that eliminates Disneyland too! We're still deciding where to go, but a Disney cruise is one of the options. The only problem with the cruise is that I would want to go to the parks too.

Yeah, I'm sure its probably pretty tough trying to sneak to WDW with out your kids knowing. Hey, my parents try and be sneaky about it now and my sister and I always find out, and we're 27 and 30. LOL!!

My freshman year of college in 2001, my parents brought me up to school then took off for 2 weeks in FL which included WDW!! I was so mad and jealous! It really freaked me out when I heard on the news on 9/11 that WDW was being evacuated when I knew my parents were going to be there that day!

I'm shooting for our 25th anniversary as well...that would be 2007, hopefully I can talk him into it by then.

We are planning for one in Feb. I'm having so much guilt about leaving the kids behind though.

I was just in Raleigh, NC and I noticed our Do Not Disturb now said Privacy Please. I thought it was a little strange. Perhaps all hotels are now changing the saying.

I never thought the do not disturb sign being changed would spawn two pages of posts. It just proves that the people on this site are are sick. It is so good to be among like minded people! :hammer:

I highly recommend it. We did it at the beginning of this month for our 25th (I was married at 14 :lookaroun ). And had just a great time.

There are adult only trip planners and I managed to track down enough that we had a very different, but very special visit. While I would have considered other destinations (as she is not a Disneyholic), we kept coming back to it as she, being worried about the homefront felt comfortable knowing that we could get to the airport and be home in 21/2 hours if necessary.

We are lucky in having my parents nearby to help keep and eye on, and we also got a "housemom" to stay at the house with them...not that we didn't trust them, but to provide a neutral oversite. The two older ones probably enjoyed the break from us.

Oh yea, Privacy Please...I personally like that better, just sounds a bit more polite....just as I don't think "If the van is a rockin', don't come knockin'" quite fits any longer.

Ever notice they don't work? Last trip, trying to sleep off a hangover, sign on the door correct side facing out (just wanna get that straight), the maid came in twice, they guy came in AND re-filled the wetbar, and somebody attempted to clean the carpet. I figured it was Disney's way to make sure I didn't waste a day! :hurl:

>_>;;; Ummmm I hope I'm misreading your post but yes, other people besides english speaking people go to disney world. Shoot me later if I'm wrong ok. If I was german, I'd love to read "Bitte nicht storen." In my own language. And while I was working at yacht and beach, they made us change the door signs as well to say privacy please and different colored ones as well.
