Do the monorail resorts share the "free" amenties? Specifically, I am thinking about the GF and Poly. I know that if you stay at the Poly, you can use the health cub at GF. But what about the pools, hot tub, etc.?

Much thanks

you use the pools at any resorts pretty much...just up on a bus, monorail or boat...itll just look like your a guest at the resort....i went to the resorts a bunch when i was a CP and i was never staying at any of them except when my parents came down with my sis for spring break

The individual resort pools are for that resorts guests only....officially.

Others will try to convince you otherwise, but that's the OFFICIAL line.

yeah they say that...but seeing how they don't go around swiping room keys that can show you what resort you really are staying at, which they can do because thats what we did at DAK for EMH to make sure the room keys were valid...it also showed what resort they were staying at,...so what im saying is until disney strickens that policy you can "pool hop" all day long

There is a distinct difference between what you "may" do and what you possibly "can" do.

...and that's from a WDW CM, ladies and gentlemen.

Perhaps I'm too much of an optimistic goody two-shoes, but I would have expected an employee to stick to the company line.

I know at my job we are allowed to question and discuss policy--even disagree with it.
But in public, we are expected to explain and defend the corporate decision.

My feelings on pool hopping are abundantly clear from previous posts.

And just because they don't swipe room keys does not mean that they can't. Many people have reported being asked to show room keys at Stormalong
Bay.

Considering how many Disney higher-ups scrutinize these message boards, you'd think he'd know better, especially considering the avatar! :brick:

oh NoOoOoOo!!!

you can eat at other resorts restaurants...so why can't you use their pools? answer that

You PAY to eat at resort restaurants. You are not paying to going pool hopping, but are taking up space that could be used by the paying guests of that resort.

im not taking up sapce if its not peak season and theres maybe 10 other people at the pool...and if i was staying at another resort lets say POR and i decide i want to swim at caribbean beach, theyre both moderate resorts.. i'm paying the same price as i'd do at the other...why can't i swim at caribbean?

It was my understanding that due to the high volume of non Beach Club / Yacht Club resort guests at their pool, the resort guest only rule is not strictly enforced.

Alot of if's there...

Because if EVERYBODY had the same attitude, there would be no room for the paying guests.

That's why there are rules.

The rules are meant for EVERYONE. Even those who think: "The rules don't apply to me."

i'm paying to stay at a resort why can't i use a pool of the same price range of the pool i'm staying at?

and for the whole "The rules don't apply to me" thing....you need to take another look...and see that i never said i went pool hopping...i said i went to the resorts and guess what i did there...i ate at their restaurants. so don't srutinize me for something i've never done...the whole 4 months i was at disney i didn't get in a pool once..(why i didnt i don't know, but thats besides the point)...

so saying and thats coming from a CM...i'm just stating what i've heard before.

Because the powers that be say that is no longer allowed. I have been asked for my room key at resort pools and I have seen people escorted off the WL property when they showed up at the pool and were not guests there. DVC members still have pool hopping rights (at certain times and at certain resort hotels), but the rest of the guests do not.

The restaurants are a pay per use facility and set up for profit making. The pools are an amenity for the paying guests of that resort hotel.

As an employee of WDW you are risking your job by bragging about breaking the rules and encouraging others to follow your lead. We already know CMs who have gotten in trouble for things they have posted here so we know that the company does monitor fan sites.

read my post above yours....no where did i ever say i went pool hopping...yes i have gone to many different resorts while i was a CP, because i wanted to go eat at the different places....no rules against that. and i wasnt encouraging anyone in breaking the rules, i simply was restating things that i had previously heard from others

when I stayed in May at the YB Club that CMs were quite diligent about checking resort IDs. I can't say if this is the case with other resorts, but it would at least seem as if the "rule" certainly exsists.
