DL Captain EO Ready to Leave is WDW Next?

I wonder when, if ever, Disney has plans to upgrade many parts of FutureWorld. In my opinion, this area is in the most need of refurbishment/ new ideas in WDW. Wonders of Life is closed, Ellen's Energy Adventure is basically the "homeless man's Dinosaur", and Journey Into Imagination is downright depressing. While it was fun to see Captain EO brought back recently, it's not an attraction that has staying power and JIYI is quite possibly the worst attraction at EPCOT. Disney has done so well with the recent additions of Mission Space, Soarin', and Nemo that the others mentioned are just sad.

That being said, I don't think an upgrade is coming anytime soon. The three big upcoming WDW projects are the Fantasyland expansion, the recently announced Avatar-themed land in AK, and then the possible rumored expansion of Pixar Place in Studios. And with the struggling economy, it seems Disney won't engage in too many major upgrades at the same time. It's just sad to see FutureWorld in the condition it is in.

I will/would take JII over Nemo any day of the year. Nemo is a snore fest. I love EO and I'll be sad to see it go. I'm glad I got my piece of history from it on our last trip. It was great to see it on both of our trips this year, as it had been roughly 20 years since I last saw it at DL.

I wish they would bring Horizons back because I never got to see it first hand, and the videos I see on Youtube make it look pretty awesome.

Well, even though FutureWorld is terribly outdated - or in same cases, just lame - it still provides a pretty full day of attractions. In the eyes of the company, I am sure that is the key. HS and AK aren't necessarily offering that full day for the same price of admission. I am hoping that over the next few years we will be seeing some extensive overhauls....one at a time....which really shouldn't be the same investment as a full on expansion like MK or AK...

Why don't Phineas and Ferb become the new hosts of the Imagination Pavilion then?

I don't think you Phineas and Ferb people understand how quickly kids will move on from this property. There is nothing classic about it. A new, hip show will replace it within a few years and then we'd be stuck with a Kim Possible situation where an outdated property is attached to an attraction.

Whatever replaces EO should be unique to the location without using flash in the pan IPs.

While I don't doubt P&F won't be around forever... it is the best cartoon the Disney Channel has had in a long time. I'm not saying it's right for Imagination, though... I personally would like to see something else in DHS featuring them (besides for a M&G).

Kim Possible was already an outdated property when they created the attraction! :p I still like it and it does entertain the kids (outdated or not).

I'm sure people said the same about Sponge Bob.

Have you been on Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage?

As for replacing Captain EO, I hope that the replacement isn't Honey I Shrunk the Audience. I'd love to see them dusting up some of the ideas that were rumored a year+ ago about a new ride layout that would utilize the theater space as well as the existing ride space.

I'd rather just see them use the full original ride space and keep the theater.

There's plenty of unused or wasted space as-is in the building without taking away a potential attraction in the theater.

My apologies. I meant at WDW. I haven't been on Nemo subs, but I did love the ride before it was turned into Nemo.

No need to apologize, your complaints on The Seas with Nemo and Friends are comparable to my complaints about The Submarine Voyage. Neither attraction is particular exciting, but the benefit of The Seas with Nemo and Friends is a substantially shorter wait. Admittedly, the Submarine Voyage is better but that's largely because it's longer and a more unique ride system.

As for The Seas with Nemo and Friends vs. Journey Into Imagination with Figment - It's hard for me (and presumably others) to look at Journey Into Imagination with anything but a bias because of what it replaced. While the Seacabs had their fans, (I'm wearing my Mickey's of Glendale Seas Pavilion t-shirt right now)they aren't as numerous or as vocal as the Imagination fans.
