They could, but they won't. The only incentive they would have to go to the trouble of switching it out is if it would boost attendance in the theater. Which the return of HISTA would not do. In fact, it would probably decrease..

How much attendance did EO boost after the first couple weeks? Little to very little.
Its the cheapest fix if they want EO out. Thats the way they will go.

Phineas & Ferb would bring in kids of all ages to Epcot

While me kids love Epcot... unfortunately I've heard the same comment from many a family from around these parts. It's sad that Epcot can't entertain in and of itself... but times are a changing! However I feel Epcot has the ability to entertain and educate just like it did "back in the day"!
I love Phineas and Ferb but I think they belong in the Studios. I would like to see some sort of original video featuring Figment, myself!

As far as EO goes, my mother and I make a point of seeing it every time we visit Epcot. It reminds her of seeing it back in the day and it makes me think "wow, there was a lot of work put in to the 80's" unlike today where everything can be done on a computer. Personally, I wouldn't mind if EO stuck around as I still haven't gotten my fill yet

What's the point of going through all that trouble? Attendance might not change, but hey, at least EO can sell a few t-shirts a day. HISTA didn't have a single piece of merchandise out when it closed. EO should only close when something new is ready to come in...

Captain EO is outdated but I don't want HISTA back. Ugh.

Epcot is not as bad as you made it sound. Turtle Talk with Crush was created for kids in mind. The Seas with Nemo & Friends is also made for kids. Disney's Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure is made for kids since it is an interactive adventure.

I disagree, the purpose of the meet and greet in DHS is because they're making a movie, Imagination is a big part of the P and F montra and totally fits in that pavillion. There is no stretch. Also gives an excuse for a Perry KP retheme. It is rather dated....

It's not going to happen. They will not go to the trouble to switch it back out. It's not a matter of just changing the movie out.
