Disneyworld and Disneyland in the same day

I'm not going to tell you what to do with your money. If it's your idea of a fun challenge, best of luck. Were I to try it, I'd probably try to notify Disney one way or the other, let them know my plans. It's kind of a cool human interest story (though since we're entering an era of "cool frugality," maybe people won't be AS impressed as they would've been 5 years ago  ). Maybe it's something they'd want to exploit for PR purposes - maybe they'll help you get to and from the airports, or have fastpasses waiting for you or something like that. No guarantees, but it sounds like the sort of thing they'll put in their newsletters or send to local news.

Maybe, you should pull a Phil-Collins-at-Live-Aid and promise to perform a couple of numbers at each park :ROFLOL:

Wow. Disneyland and Disney World in one day? Nah, thats not crazy. Only other person I've ever heard of doing such a thing was Michael Jackson and we all know he is sane. :lookaroun:lookaroun

I say Go For It!

There was a story in the local OC Register newspaper a few years back of a family that did that. They were in Florida and spent the morning at Magic Kingdom, then flew back home to OC and spent the evening at Disneyland just to say they did it. The paper had a picture of them boarding the WDW Monorail in the morning, and a picture of them disembarking the Disneyland Monorail in the evening.

That would be awesome...
I would say get a FP for a ride that both WDW and DL use and get your photo infront of each ride holding up the FP. Dont use them but save them and frame em in one big frame with the pictures. What else would be cool, get a dream FP (I know, I know) and take it to DL and see what kind of looks you get with it there.

Actually I fly to Burbank once every 4 weeks for work so I have built up enough Southwest Airlines credits for a free round trip. I will use that to get from PHX to ORL then from ORL to LA. I already have an annual pass for Disneyland so the real hard cost comes from staying the the Disneyworld resort. I would have flown back to PHX anyway on Tuesday the 7th, why not book that free return to Orange County, use my Annual Pass and then crash at my parents house in LA for that night. Burbank to Phoenix is just $44 one way right now on Southwest. It' a great deal.

I thought about documenting it as well. One person mentioned telling Disney about it...who knows I might do that, but I am not expecting anything at all. I just want to say I did it and like the other person said....down the road, years from now...I won't think about the money but that actual event and fond memories.

Could you imagine if it was raining at both parks on the same day? LOL but hey it's July and very rarely does it rain in July in Anaheim.

Also I do give alot to charity so I would not feel like this is too much on myself. I work real hard and I was thinking about going somewhere out of the country but I just don't feel that comfortable with doing that right now. This is a much cheaper plan for me and I will be at my favorite place(s) on earth :)

Also - I won't be at Disneyworld for one ride. I will be there for 5 days prior to leaving on the 7th. I just wanted to go early in the morning to catch maybe the Mansion and Pirates and then catch them both later that night at Disneyland.

I LOVE that fast pass / picture idea Brian!!

OMG! You must have invaded my brain with the idea of hitting DL & WDW in the same day. I dreamed about it last night. So weird. I remember the emotions, being excited and all, and telling people while in line for POTC & HM at WDW that I had just been on the same attractions at DL x-number of hours ago. Funny thing is I've never even been to DL. Someday. It's on my list of things to do in life. :p

However the $$ works out, sweetie, I say go for it. I sounds like things have come together, the stars have alligned, and this unusual opportunity has presented itself. Have fun with it. Get a special t-shirt made (maybe at the Design-A-Tee at DTD) or something. Make sure to come back here and post some pics. I'd love to see and hear how it all unfolded.

It would be three hours easier if you did WDW first, then Disneyland but whatever 'floats your boat'; sounds fun.

I think maybe C&D said that because I dreamed it in reverse. LOL! I'll be sure to inform Mr.Sandman that we gotta get it right or we'll never make it next time.

Huh....interesting idea. I don't think I could do it though even if funds weren't an issue. I love WDW and when I'm there don't want the time to end. I think I'd end up flying into MCO and then saying screw it, I'm staying right here.

I make it down to Disneyland so going on a one day daytrip isn't too big of a deal but I don't get out to Florida enough to only be there for a couple of hours.

I saw three castles in a week completely by chance. Sent to Paris for work a week before my planned trip to California. I live about 45 minutes away from WDW so I hit that in between just because I could. It was pretty sweet.

Wow now doing Paris, WDW and Disneyland in one week is very very impressive. Which one did you enjoy the most? I have read on this site that Paris Disney is really sweet. How did you like it?

Do it and DOCUMENT IT!

Make sure your camera records the date and time with the photo, almost all do.

Not just Pirates, but get:

- photos in front of each castle
- in front of each Small World ride
- in front of each park entrance
- as much as you can squeeze in

Agreed! As many pictures/video as possible. Maybe even a video diary of you riding Pirates in WDW, your travel out of park and to airport, you on the plane, layover, video of you arriving in Orange County, entering DL, you walking onto DL Pirates, and then lastly...your closing thoughts!!!

Your right, my bad; getting a little dyslectic in my old/middle age. :hammer:(I could have sworn I read that the other way, duh.)

OK, tonight I secured a friend of mine to go with me. I will now be able to have someone document the trip with video.

Again...I don't want to come off as someone who has crazy amounts of money and is willing to spend it frivolously. I am just living out a dream that comes from only being able to put aside enough money to visit WDW and then pay for a short/cheap flight from Burbank to PHX.

On a side note...I have thought about getting the t-shirts made. I have a friend in LA who owns a print shop. What should I have it say on the shirt?

Also - Any one on here plan on being at either WDW or Disneyland on the July 4th weekend? or on July 7th when I plan to be at both parks? I would love to meet up with people who enjoy the Disney experience as much as I do.

I tell my friends (who think I am a nut job)....in these times of negative reporting...ie: TV, Internet, Paper....this is why I love the Disney experience so much. Everything in the Disney parks takes my mind off of reality...and these news outlets are always so focused on the negative!

I call it my brain break. Oh well. At least most if not all of you understand that point :)
