Today Disney has been announcing new things or releasing trailers every 2 hours since 6AM PST this morning. Maybe something big is being announced either today or tomorrow in honor of the 1st anniversary of the service. Just something I noticed and probably isn’t true, but it would be cool if we got some big news later today and/or tomorrow.

So much for a Winter 2020 release. Have to wait an additional month now.
I mean can you blame them? This pandemic has really hit the film business hard. Plus, they are trying to spread their content out. There are 2 new movies coming out in the first two weeks of December, Mando ends December 18, and then Soul comes out the following week on Christmas. There isn’t much room for new content

I don't buy the "there isn't much room for new content" excuse. There is plenty of room for content. What the issue is in my opinion is they don't have enough content in the pipeline, which has been discussed before. And I've been on both sides of that conversation before.

Anyways, it was more of a rhetorical statement than something that needed a response.

😢 Was really looking forward to this coming in December.

I kind of thought they'd time it so it would either overlap with The Mandalorian by a week or start the week after that ends - in order to try to encourage people to not have a lapse in membership. I suspect there's a healthy overlap between people interested in both Star Wars and MCU products.

"A “Darkwing Duck” reboot is in early development at Disney Plus, Variety has learned from sources.

No writer is currently attached to the project, but sources say it will be executive produced by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, and Alex McAtee of Point Grey Pictures. McAtee will oversee the project for the company.

Reps for Point Grey did not immediately respond to Variety‘s request for comment. Disney declined to comment."

I hope we get a animated film or live action tv series on Disney+ based off this underrated comic book series that lead to the creation of Star Wars in the first place. If it’s not familiar the comic series is called Valerian & Laureline.

A movie has already been done by another studio:

It was done by Luc Besson, so I doubt he'll want to give up the rights to film/tv.

Disney would have to negotiate with the original creators of Valerian & Laureline. Plus there was a anime series before the film so Disney could make a adaptation. Plus the live action film didn’t do well in the box office.

Doesn't mean that rights are just automatically available even if the film didn't do well. My understanding is that Besson's production company EuropaCorp has the film and tv rights right now. I remember some rumors back a couple years ago that he was talking with Netflix on making either another film or tv show based on the Valerian series.

I mean I could be wrong but its not just as simple as you make it sound.
