I feel sorry for you.

There are a lot of older people who may not necessarily agree with gay marriage, but they don't do anything to oppose it. These same people may have gay neighbors or gay friends whom they truly care for. But you would write off those people, because they have a view that is different than yours.
The smaller, angrier minds will have a hard to understanding this, but being for something doesn't make you inherently against everything that opposes it.

I really hope to not see this situation devolve into the same type of vibe as that scene in the movie "Malcolm X" where a white girl wants to help the cause and he he disses her and turns her help away BECAUSE she is WHITE.
If somebody, even a "purple people eater" wants to HELP, then let them HELP !! It is good for the soul - for both the giver and the reciever...If you can't accept that - then I think you are just using whatever difference you have as a shield and a bludgeon to mask your own issues, and that is just SAD.

They did light it rainbow last summer when gay marriage was legalized.

Were you there in the parks at the time? I'm not trying to be contrary, but everything I've heard about that was that the picture wasn't real. Someone took the image of the castle and photoshopped the rainbow colors over it.

No, the picture was real, and had been lit up with rainbow colors, but that had been done years prior and strictly for entertainment purposes, if I'm understanding it correctly.

You're right, that's something I believe I've seen on here recently.
Point being, the castle has never been lit in a special way to honor or commemorate any group, event or incident. As far as I know.

Doesn't look photoshopped but this Instagram post makes it sound like it was taken that day.

They're actually still supporting anti-LGBT groups as well.

Again, helping is good. Being consistently helpful is better.

You're really stretching. Dan Cathy, a Christian said he believes that marriage is between a man and a woman. That's a deeply held religious belief. I won't go into why. That's a discussion for a religious forum, not here. According to the article, that translates into "a history of anti-LGBT" activism, while the article doesn't see the irony in its own anti-Christian activism spelled out right there for all to read.

Just because someone believes that doesn't mean that you're "anti-gay" or "hate" gays. How many times have I been saying that on this thread? An olive branch is offered over and over. Yet you and others continue to close the door and call those of us offering condolences and support bigots and worse.
