I'm not saying this in a snarky way, I'm actually very much wondering, because that was a big part of the story and why he chose that night-
Do you only get your "news" from Twitter?

No. I don't. Now, source? Or was that a way of deflecting the issue?

I'm on my phone so can't paste. I think you're on a phone or computer and may try googling it? I mean you did start a thread about an issue, so being informed on said issue would probably make sense.

As stated in the OP, this was not intended to be a discussion about the shooting itself, but rather the response by Disney and other venues in the Orlando area.

Not necessarily, all you have to do is pay attention to the hashtags which more than likely will have all of the information on there, or Reddit...Reddit has more accurate timelines than the MSM does.

Yeah. You may need to adjust your settings on the Trending Topics sidebar, as they can go from what's trending locally in your immediate area, state, country, or worldwide.

But there have been several instances where Twitter and other social media platforms were getting out faster and more reliable info than many mainstream media outlets.

mind you the reason why the gay community is not only blaming islam for this because the very same day this statement were being made across the country by radical christian communities. Its easy to just scream oh he is islam but when you have american citizens of only a certian other community sympathize with him then you can't blame it on just one thing. Yet no one is calling those radical people what they are. Religion in general has created the problems of the past 200 years in this country from slavery to interracial marriage to terrorism and gay marriage. These are just the facts.
I wish these forums had a "love" button. So, here you go: <3

No, but if you were curious you would do your own research instead of expecting someone else to do it for you.

Maybe, since I don't know the guy and he didn't tell me his plans to massacre people, maybe he wasn't targeting Latinos and gays. But since such a conversation didn't happen- All I know is the info that is being released.

Again please show me where I have criticized the people who put their lives on the line to prevent this tragedy from being much worse than it was? Where have I called into question the motives of the doctors, nurses, first responders, volunteers, etc. Oh right, I didn't. The only thing I said, way back when, was that I was annoyed at people trying to shift the focus off the significance of where this attack occurred. Then, I get attacked for being anti-straight, for claiming no one deserves to mourn except gays, I get accused of being all these bizarre things simply because I made a comment on some observation about media coverage. You claim I have an agenda to push, seems like you do as well, twisting my words into things I never even remotely said to begin with.
Chic Fil a doesn't share the same views as you, yet they are supporting. Several people do not have the same views, and are supporting, yet in your mind they can't do this- they are either 100% For or 100% against.

In my opinion- I'm glad these people are choosing to help, regardless of their personal beliefs on sexuality.

Right. I'm sure he shot up a gay nightclub that he had frequented in the past because he was scared he was actually Latino and couldn't deal with it.

You know what's funny?

I would just give it up. It isn't worth it anymore. Some people will continue to attack Christianity because they are an easy target and will not fight back, while at the same time protecting the Muslim faith, even though that most Muslim countries have a huge problem with human rights, so bad it cannot even be compared to our own. In many Muslim countries, if you are gay, you will be lucky if your sentence is just jail time. This is the exact type of family that this terrorist was raised in, and he decided to take it a step further. But some are not interested in that because Christians are the oppressors in their eyes...while the Muslim faith is like their pet religion that must be protected from criticism at all costs....

You're talking like homophobia isn't a problem in this country. In 2013, a person who identified as agender was set on fire in a subway car because the assailant, in his own words, hated gay people.

Not really. Good on them for aiding. Now, if they consistently do this, instead of donating money to lobbyist groups who do things like convince Congress to NOT get involved in Uganda's horrific treatment of LGBT individuals, then the narrative has changed
You got your last word yesterday, remember, "Gen Xer?"

Yes, local Chic-Fil-A's are helping out. Good for them. Doesn't change the fact corporate still contributes to anti-groups. Look, I don't care if you donate a billion dollars to this cause. The minute I find out you're not even 2% supportive of gay rights, you lose respect from me. This mantra is the same for friends and family. It shows me you only see me for one insignificant facet of my life and judge me based off it. I'm at point in life where silent acknowledgement/acceptance "just to be nice" doesn't cut it anymore. All or nothing. I'll have this opinion until I die.
I feel sorry for you.

There are a lot of older people who may not necessarily agree with gay marriage, but they don't do anything to oppose it. These same people may have gay neighbors or gay friends whom they truly care for. But you would write off those people, because they have a view that is different than yours.

It's not about agreeing with them, just understanding that they are different.
Bouncing off you instead.

Going back to the topic title:
Walt Disney Company Donates $1 Million to OneOrlando Fund

Maybe now people here will stop criticizing WDW and their response, and instead say "Awesome! Maybe I was wrong and too quick to judge..."

"In coordination with OneBlood, cast members and other employees working at Walt Disney World Resort wishing to donate blood to help victims may donate at five designated locations across the resort property."

I wonder if guests will be allowed? I can understand not inside the parks but what about public areas of the property? (e.g. RCFD HQ, etc.)
