Disney's Live Action The Little Mermaid

The article bears out the point I was making: for better or worse, the film’s 71% score is good by the standard of the remakes. Perhaps you didn’t read or understand it properly, because it doesn’t support what you were trying to say earlier.

And no, I don’t have a narrative. I have a hope that I’ll enjoy it and a commitment to being honest about whether I do or not.
Thanks for insinuating that I have 0 reading comprehension but I’ll put your insults to the side.

The article stated exactly the point I was making.

Just because it’s one of the better live actions doesn’t mean it’s good.

It’s like being the best burger at McDonalds.

The point you were trying to make is that the film is a critical failure—“this is real bad”—and that its ratings show it to be “one of the worse [Disney films] of all time”. Those are your own words, without any spin from me. I’ll leave it to others to judge for themselves whether the article you shared supports your characterisations.

Is it not?

Just because it’s supposed to be one of the best live actions that is suppose to mean something?

It’s still one of the worst Disney films of all time.

I would like to tell anyone that in many countries that released the film two days earlier than US release, we got ending scene that was very different from 1989 original animated film. First and foremost, i would sadly confirm that the finale doesn't include any chorus, just instrumental version of combined Part of Your World and Wild Uncharted Waters. And the second, the wedding scene apparently cut from very ending of the film and no rainbow. Elsewhere, we would wait until US release (May 26) to see more scenes of the film

Here's the comparison between the 1989 animated film (first Disney film to feature CAPS technology at the end) and 2023 live-action film regarding the finale.

Pretty soon this is going to be “yes it is” “no it’s not” “yes it is” . . .

Why not hold off on this particular argument at least until the film comes out? And if someone hasn’t seen it, has no intention of seeing it and has an opinion about its quality, why not just take that opinion for what it’s worth?

What is your freaking issue? You have said that you are not even going to see it but yet post after post from you. Let it go Elsa.
Someone replied to a post that I made the other day.

I was just responding back to it.

Why don’t you ask them ?

2023 live-action remake

Great comparison of the music, imagery, and heart of the two films. One has got it, the other does not.

The new final shot looks like a last known image of a couple of teenagers in the mid 90's who were last seen leaving the harbor in Miami and never heard from again.

If the review bombers have their way, it will be. This remake has been politicised in a way that the others never were.

We’ll see shortly, but I don’t think this will be review bombed anymore. The narrative has really shifted. Disney fans tired of remakes and/or Disney’s live action direction are not the crowd who is going to review bomb.

The, *ahem* ‘social issue’ concerns seem to have died on the vine.
