Disney's Live Action The Little Mermaid

Is this all CGI like the “live action” Lion King?

I just watched the new trailer and at times under the water Ariel looks like she may be real (Hailey) but most of the time she looks CGI, is it all CGI or a hybrid including the real actress when possible?

The above water scene looked real, the underwater scene just looked kind of off.

Yes
There's a neat YouTube comparison of "Part of your world" with Jody Benson, the Broadway cast, and the new trailer. All wonderful, but the Broadway version IMHO was the best as her performance was live and she was in a wiring harness suspended above the stage. The new version in my opinion suffers with its melisma.

The movie opens two weeks from today. Here is a screenshot of seat availability at the 7:15 showing at the AMC Empire Times Square.

Again, it is two weeks away. That is a lot of pre-sold seats. The idea that people are not interested in this movie is completely and totally absurd.
So I tried this in my area, Chicago.

I’m not getting anything close to this.

I’m not saying that means the movie is going to flop just weird that the results are so different.

Is something special happening at that particular showing ?

This theatre's actual theater's are pretty small seat wise, but this is a 6pm showing on the 27th. Pretty full.

I personally don't think pre-ticket sales are a good example of how well a movie like this will do.

This isn't a new Marvel or Star Wars blockbuster. We also already know the story, don't need to worry about spoilers lol

Nothing special is happening at that showing. New Yorkers like their entertainment, I guess. I have never even bought a movie ticket two weeks before hand, and I have not bought a ticket for Mermaid yet.

The posting of local theater seating charts is kinda pointless. There will be variations for lots of reasons.

There are plenty of web citations of pre-sold seats, which is a better gauge of anticipation. Which, also, is not necessarily an indication of how well a movie will do. A movie may have legs or hardly any legs.

This movie certainly won’t have legs.

It's amazing that people can find the screenshots they want to meet their helpless agenda.

Forget that this movie is going to be walk-up heavy (or swim up heavy lol). Forget that there's no time given for those screenshots. Forget that we are two weeks away. Forget that pre-sales almost always very heavily lean toward the Thursday previews.

Tracking comps (comparisons to other movies) seem to be narrowing in on a $12-$14 million Thursday preview. The opening 3-day weekend should be roughly $100-$110 million and the 4-day holiday weekend should be roughly $115-$120 million or higher.

Domestically, it should soar past $300 million and quite possibly end up near Aladdin's numbers and could even go higher if the audience WOM is good.

Box office pro isn’t as optimistic.

However as you so observantly pointed out, that is probably just their radical agenda.

Halle Bailey has revealed who has a cameo in The Little Mermaid.

Halle Bailey revealed in a new interview with the Los Angeles Times that original princess Ariel voice actor Jodie Benson has a cameo appearance in Disney’s live-action “The Little Mermaid” remake. Benson appears in a scene set on land, so, alas, she’s not back as a mermaid. However, the cameo meant the two Ariel actors got a chance to meet on the set of the live-action movie. Bailey said she was grateful to have Benson’s blessing.

“She told me how proud she was of me and how I’m handling everything, and encouraged me to just go for it,” Bailey said of Benson. “I appreciate her for being so warm and welcoming to me because she’s the GOAT, and it was important to me to get her stamp of approval.”
