Disney's Hollywood Studios Name Change

Cinemagic makes sense, it's not good though. My worry is about the new icon... We had the Earffel Tower, the Chinese Theater, the Sorcerer's Hat, and now they are using the hotel... I'm a huge fan of ToT but it does not represent the park.

Sticking with DHS makes sense. People who are already familiar with the name won't be confused now and they don't have to spend a ton of money to rebrand and update all of the signs, brochures, flyers, billboards, etc. Not to mention that Cineimagine was a terrible sounding name.

I know some will gripe about the word Studios being left but to me it's really no different than Epcot not actually being an E.P.C.O.T., MK containing lands not associated with a traditional kingdom, or Disneyland's redundant use of the "...land" suffix throughout the park.

uh....that is an extremely vague timings listed folks. Grain of salt, I don't think this implies no name change. This to me implies more work to be done and name change after SW:GE opens. Foreseeable future is very, very vague.

Well, yes, but I think it basically means that while they might want to change the name, Cinemagine Park has proven to be a dud.

Well, foreseeable future implies that something unforeseen would have to happen for them to change the name of the park.

Of course, Disney PR says many things that turn out to not be true, but they really did not have to make any comment about the park's name if they didn't want to. To me, this implies that the previous thinking inside the company that the park needed a new name as part of its redevelopment has changed. The possibility of a new name is something they could tease at to build buzz among the fan community even if they hadn't settled on a new name. Despite this, they chose to flatly deny that the park will be renamed. The explanation also makes perfect sense and echoes why a lot of us thought changing the name was completely unnecessary.
