Sounds like they need to reduce capacity in the park even further. If you already have limited attractions and then you can’t get on one of the attractions you’re there for, that would just annoy me even further. Disney either needs to figure out a way to increase ride capacity or reduce park capacity.

It was a huge lottery to get onto Rise of the Resistance pre-covid, that hasn't changed. They struggled because of breakdowns, but also there never will be the capacity for every guest in the park to ride it.

Correct. In pre-COVID times there were also more attractions open. My point was if you’re going to severely limit the number of attractions, you should leave capacity at the number of people you can accommodate on RotR.

Even if all the shows were open there would be more people who want to do RotR than want to watch Beauty and the Beast.
It will be the situation that not everyone entering the park will be able to experience RotR for a couple of years even without Covid.

Methinks this is why we are getting rumors of a second closure, not enough economic martyrs willing to put their life on line for tourism.

Animal Kingdom was dead today. We basically walked onto everything twice outside of our second ride on Na'vi River and that was only a few extra minutes. I imagine in a few days, Hollywood Studios will be a ghost town much in the same fashion.

Which is why the lottery is unfair. I’d rather them make it an upcharge than add the stress of the lottery but that’s the least of our worries right now.

But it’s the same for a lot of rides and experiences. Not every guest who enters the magic kingdom can ride seven dwarves, not everyone can meet all the princesses. Many attractions have a more limited capacity than the overall park does.

Umm... no. When I enter the magic kingdom, if seven dwarves is open and operating, I can choose to ride it or not. I don’t have to win a lottery to do so.

But the point is if everyone made that choice the line would take all day. A better example is when there was the original Elsa meet at Epcot where there was an 8 hour plus line. Not everyone could experience that but there was an actual line people fought over getting a place in, instead of a virtual line on an app.

I dislike the term LOTTERY, as that implies it’s total random chance and out of your control.

Not once in my 23 visits have I failed to get a boarding group. I educated myself, knew what to do and got one. Depending upon Disney IT and/or my service provider it would cause some fluctuations in my group number, but I always got a group.

So while I understand you sentiment, I think a different term would be more appropriate, as it is not just “random chance” or “luck of the draw”. The end user is is primary control of getting one 🤩🤩🤩

Speaking as someone who didn’t get one despite doing “everything right” back in February I respectfully disagree.
