Hollywood Studios appears to be the most "crowded" of the WDW theme parks, I'm wondering if people think of my 2 theories:
1) A lot less "No shows" that made a reservation due to Star Wars and MMRR being so new
2)DHS lost more of it's capacity than other parks
--DHS lost Indy, Frozen, BATB, VotLM, and Disney Jr. If all the parks are at the same % of their pre-covid capacity (say 20%).

3) Boarding groups being used still encourages everyone to arrive before park open, rather than a more natural staggered arrival and departure at the other parks.

Runaway Railway reportedly running this morning without the pre-show -

"the preshow would add a significant amount of time to the wait time, which would increase the time guests are waiting in the hot Florida sun"

Can confirm. They barely had any queue in use inside. Side note, it was posted at 75 mins, but we waited 25. 20 of which were outside.

On the whole, the park seemed absurdly busy early this morning with queues stretching well out of attractions. We found that wait times were severely over-represented however. We rode tot, slinky, and MMRR (posted at 30, 40, and 75) and waited 20-25 for each

Edited to add a little commentary:

We got there at 10. Don't. It was awful for the first hour or so. Way too crowded. Wait times fall off by about 11 and as stated above are still overstated then. Don't go at 10 or you'll be disappointed or scared. We saw multiple people recording videos of lines of rnrc not distanced too well and leading to the entrance to fantasmic

There was no pre show yesterday in the morning either. We got in line at 920 and we’re on the ride by 1020. It was our first time so we didn’t even know there was a pre show.

Just a FYI - seems if you take your mask off for a ride photo, it will get deleted. We are having trouble with getting the ride photos and when we asked they said they were manually reviewing each photo for mask compliance. Makes me think of Splash Mountain years ago.
It seems like manually reviewing each photo shouldn't cause much of a delay (how long does it take to verify each person has a mask?)...unless they are severly understaffed and there's a backlog of photos to review? (Let us know if your photos suddenly show up on your account days later.)

It seems like Disney is losing out on an easy extra revenue stream if their review policy is affecting people who aren't flaunting the mask rule on rides.

They are definitely reviewing ride photos manually to avoid any unmasked shots getting out into the public. We are expecting ride photos to show up 5+ days after they are taken. Ride capacity for the 13 total rides that offer photos is about 20,000 people per hour, photos range from 2 persons (Buzz) to 20+ persons (Tower of Terror), so I'd estimate that we are talking about at least 3,000 photos per hour. Even though rides are running at reduced capacity, the cameras have not been reprogrammed to only shoot when people are onboard. That's quite a few pictures to be looking through with very close attention to detail (especially since many masks are made to look like actual mouths). I'll be impressed if ride pictures are even showing up within a week of being taken.

It's more number 1 cause ROTR and MMRR are new rides. ROTR has only been opened for four months and MMRR has just been opened for a week before all the closures. Add to that Toy Story land still being popular and the the usual popularity of the thrill rides TOR and Aerosmith.

Maybe they should warn riders before riding the vehicles about it.

Virtual Queue for Rise of Resistance has been booking out super quickly too. There really is no tip or trick to it. It's just a gamble. I would avoid DHS. The crowds don't naturally disperse like the other parks because there is a limited number of things to do and most people just want to do the new stuff. You're better off just going closer to closing. People also have to realize that they are also responsible for maintaining that social distancing. It's not all Disney's job.

Maybe they shouldn’t have to.

The rules are pretty clear regarding the limited conditions under which one can remove their mask.

*Not meant as a jab against you*
I totally agree with you but aren't you aware that guests leave their brains and common sense outside once they enter the parks? LOL! It's true though. That's why Disney is adjusting to the guests by putting plexiglass dividers in the queues. Other parks are not doing that.

so how many people per boarding group were there and what number did they get up to and what are the park hours now?
The park is open from 10am to 8pm - 10 hours.
Not sure how many people per boarding group, but they were giving boarding groups into the 70s. I don't know if they got through them all. My friends that were in the park didn't get a boarding group any of the 3 drops. They said they ran out in less than a minute each time. The capacity must be really low.

Sounds like they need to reduce capacity in the park even further. If you already have limited attractions and then you can’t get on one of the attractions you’re there for, that would just annoy me even further. Disney either needs to figure out a way to increase ride capacity or reduce park capacity.
