I make the same "mind blown" jokes that everybody else does... but not this time. I'm scrubbing the splatters off the wall right now.

Most importantly, I miss the carnival beach music of Paradise Pier. I could literally spend a full day at Paradise Pier listening to the music.

This was the best thing about DCA 1.0 and losing it was a good example of Disney spending money on something that didn't need to be fixed. I agree about the Sun Wheel too. The Soap Opera Bistro was an interesting concept as well.

DCA 1.0 wasn't devoid of merit, it just cut one (or seven) too many corners in its asthetic design and certain attractions.

My first visit was after Monsters and ToT had opened. I instantly could not understand at all what all of the complaints were about by that point. I could understand not liking Superstar Limo, but that was just one attraction.

I loved the tortilla factory. Their animation courtyard was far superior to DHS. It was a vastly superior park to DHS and AK. Heck, even Epcot by that point.

Honestly, at that point, it may just have been my favorite Disney park. I never got to experience Golden Dreams or the Wine feature and we spent more than 4 days at the park. It was a total satisfactory experience. It was my first time to experience Sorin' and we rode it 4-5 times. Sure, the raft ride and trails park weren't our cup of tea, but that back corner was a nice quiet escape.

DHS needs its own things, not clones from DCA. Also, DCA's Buena Vista Street storyline wouldn't really work for DHS.
Raven, I agree with you that DHS needs its own identity and I wasn't implying that DHS be an exact duplicate of DCA, just similar. Maybe instead of cloning DCA for DHS, they make it the Disney Studios of 1920's and build from there!? I think the problem with Disney USA is what they put in Anaheim, they end up duplicating in Lake Buena Vista. The parks are different and have their own unique vibes. CARSland would most likely be a scaled back version of DLR's. much smaller unless they use areas around the park to expand that is much needed!

Like I said they should at least acknowledge the shows and movies that were filmed there at one time or another..

Indeed. I still play, "Was an episode of Thunder In Paradise filmed here" when I visit certain areas. By my count, you've got The Seas Pavilion (changed though it is), the Morocco Pavilion, Grand Floridian, Cinderella's Castle, the UK Pavilion, Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular, and... Crap, I know I'm missing a few. I'm not counting the original Discovery Island, naturally.

Fun fact- that's not the only show featuring a high tech crime-fighting boat to have a connection to DHS!

We are less than a month away from May 1st which will be Disney's Hollywood (MGM) Studios 25th Anniversary. Suprised there isn't much talk about it.
But does anybody know if anything is planned at all?

Napalm.

In all seriousness, No. I have not heard of anything and it is doubtful that anything is planned. I believe that Disney would prefer it go unnoticed.

I'll be there with the WDWCelebrations.com event "Studio 25". They usually put on a great event for fans for these anniversaries. In my experience, Disney rarely announces anything until within a couple of weeks, sometimes days  and then the WDWCelebrations guys scramble to adjust their schedule to whatever is announced.

Tiffani hasn't been seen/heard from in years. Mousekeeters don't even seem to know where she ended up. Very odd!

Not so odd. People fade out of the limelight and, once there, they find they like it there.
90% of the Mousketeers found life outside the limelight and managed to keep touch with one another. It's fairly odd that no one who actually knew her has any idea where she ended up.

The BAH is not bad...it's just in the wrong location... they should move it to the other end of the street by the entrance gates and the problem is fixed... It looks like the Golden Age of Hollywood again. the Earful tower always seemed like a strange icon... especially now that Disney Springs is also going to have an old water tank as their entry sign, and Celebration also uses an old water tank...I am not even sure what a water tank has to do with the Golden Age Of Hollywood...
Almost every major movie studio in California has a water tower, so I'm guessing that's what Disney was trying to go for. It doesn't necessarily invoke Hollywood, but I see what they were trying to do.

In the early days of Hollywood they needed a lot of huge lights to get any kind of image on film, but the lights were a big fire hazard (MGM had a huge fire during the making of the Wizard of Oz in the 1930's that destroyed many of the sets). So because of the constant threat of fires, water towers were placed at the center of each studio lot, in case of fires on the sound stages they could use the water to quickly extinguish them, and since they were so protonate in the center of the lot, the studios would put their names/logos on the water towers.

But water towers are pretty much "the icon" of a movie studio in the 1930's, "golden age" of Hollywood, and it's really kind of dumb that they don't use the Earful Tower as the icon for the park

Yes, and the actual Disney Studios (in Burbank/Hollywood, not WDW) still has a Mickey-adorned Water tower as its icon.
