I have found the selection of stuff in the UK store quite laughable. A pathetic amount of chocolate by the tills, lots of tea, grandma style smellie things and football shirts. What on earth do people think of the UK based on that!?

Thank you, Pippa. I have only been to London once and thought how WS's version completely has nothing truly related to what we saw in merchandise. I am glad a person like you from UK would confirm that I was not crazy.

Not to get to far off topic but does any one know of any other stores in orlando like the UK England store in WS. I know that there is one in old town area but I'm pretty sure it's Close to the Epcot version w/o the disney stuff, just choclates and teas not real UK products. Thanks for any info...

WHAT???? Are you saying that there is really NO GRACE BROTHERS? and that Mrs. Sloucomb and Mr. Humphreys are merely characters from some 1970s sitcom???? I am shattered....I don't know if I can go on. Next you'll tell me that I have no chance of leaving my husband for Duncan on Monarch of the Glen.

Seriously though. When we ate in Germany in June, I loved the sweet mustard, I asked where I could get it and the manager told me "try Wal-Mart" talk about disappointed!

We just had visitors from the UK staying with us for 3 weeks. They saw a great deal of the midwest, saw how we actually lived our lives and were amazed and the differences in their towns and ours. The differences between the midwest and Orlando as well. In fact many of their friends asked them why in the world would they waste 3 weeks in the midwest when they could go to Vegas or Orlando or both. so I suppose its all in the mind set....so now, I think I'll go get my Grace Brothers fix for the night :)

That about sums it up  There is a new splinter goup called chavs to add to the list.

There are still a number of decent sorts about though.

Well, atleast the epcot countries are populated by cast memebers of that region.:D
I always thought they the foods were a true representation of the country in general. Then again, I live in Louisiana and we eat a bunch of crawfish culterally and I have yet to see crawfish available at the American pavilion. that is just plain wronge to me.

ROFL!! Hey they already do that!! My last name is England, so you better believe I have multiple shotglasses, mugs, magnets, and bumperstickers all purchased from the UK Pavillion. But I view that as Disney stuff as opposed to cultural.
OH, this is WILD. My first marraige was to someone who's last name is England.
I cannot believe how many people could not spell it.

I don't know about Bandai brand, but I did see at least one Godzilla figure. However the toys do have a hefty Disney tax on them, so you would probably be better off finding a different source.
They have a toy tax? Or just the regular Fl. sales tax of 6.5%?

I am rather fond of the Diana plaid, the bath salts and English perfumes (not at all Grandma smelly things) and some of the rarely found Tennis outfits.

LOL, gotta go with that. America represents the junk segment of our diets.

BTW, I LOVE crawfish (crayfish in the North).

LOL!! I can't tell you how many times I've been called Mr. English or Mr. Engram!! Geees!! You'd think if I was wearing the England shirt, it would be a dead give away, but no, they always get the name wrong.

I'm just refering to the fact that some items can cost significantly more in Disney than out of Disney. This seemed particularly so of the toys in the Japanese pavilion. I have a friend who loves Anime and I looked at some of the toys and was shocked at how expensive they were.

Yeah. Last night at Wood & Wine I saw a cute sheep plush at Germany I wanted to buy - until I noticed he was $32. Yeesh. Must not have been taller than 8 inches... Same deal at Japan. A friend of mine loves Totoro and was going to buy her a plush - until I noticed he was $55! :brick:

Even the T-Shirts are at a premium. I spent an extra $4 on an Iron Chef shirt I bought there. Mind you, that's $4 on top of Disney's already pricey $19 standard.

Yep, I hear that. How hard is it to spell England? I used to say "spell it like the country". BIG MISTAKE, apparently it is difficult to spell. Englund was the most common.

Got ya, thanks for the definition. Bonsais are far more expensive there than outside too. In fact, most things fit that more expensive inside than out at Disney.

HAHAHAHAHA!!  That is sooooo funny!! I do the exact same thing! When people ask for my last name it comes out in one word "Englandlikethecountry"
Then they'll usually say "Spell that for me" I'll say "ENGLAND.......Like the country!?!?" and they just give me this blank expression:veryconfu. How sad is that?

Don't get me started on "chavs"! Why, for goodness sake, can't people just have a little decorum and manners? What makes them think that tons of cheap gold jewellery looks good? Fake Burberry, not squeezing yourself into clothes two sizes too small, I could go on...........

Do you have these sorts in the US as well??

Mostly along the east coast (Florida included), but the Northeast is probably the worse offenders. :zipit:
