DisneyQuest – A New Disney Adventure where YOU Control the Action!
Part Scavenger Hunt, Part Video Game, All Disney Magic!

This is my idea for a replacement for the ill-fated Disney Quest in Downtown Disney. Part Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure with more variety, part Magiquest (http://www.magiquest.com/) with amazing special effects, and all Disney magic! To start, you purchase your wand on the ground level of the building. There are also street carts selling wands in front. You can decorate your wand with the mix-n-match ribbons, toppers, jackets, etc. and you choose how long your session in the “Quest Zone” will be. (Don’t worry; all of these things are sold up the elevator if you forget!) Next, wave your wands at the sensor at the elevator door. This is done to load a video to play during the ascent.

The premise of the game is that you go through Snow White’s Enchanted Forest, Mt. Olympus, Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty’s Kingdom, Agrabah, & More (more can be added on to undeveloped areas, such as Holloweentown, Neverland, Atlantica, or the 100 Acre Wood. Temporary worlds can be installed too, like a The Princess and The Frog world or a world used for promoting a movie coming soon, like Up.(Of course, these would have to be planned early.)! The main bulk of the games are the stories of each respective world, but bonus stories and extra multi-world challenges are available (again, have to be planned in advance, yet much easier to add in than a whole new world). The main narrators of each world (The Magic Mirror, The Muses, The Cheshire Cat (and Alice), The 3 Fairies, and the Genie) help guide your way through the land. For small children, the game is made easier and boiled down to its essence. Fighting is also blocked out as many small children can’t figure out how to do it. This can even be integrated into the hotels on a small scale!

Anyways, back to the elevator: You wave your wand and the elevator comes down. The video playing inside introduces you to your main narrators and tells you how to start your quest. It also displays each rider’s score so far in the game, how many awards they have, and what they should do next. It also says which quest worlds are down and which are crowded. The doors open up into Mickey the Questmaster’s Central Station. Here you will be able to select your quest, be briefed on the next world, have some food at Quest Café and buy more playtime, accessories, costumes, and more at the Adventure Outfitter’s shop. The room has a plush, futuristic feel, like the Spaceship Earth Post Show. The main lighting is blue. There are large metal pillars in the room with touch screens in them. This is where you your quest. For now, we’ll start with Snow Whit’s Enchanted Forest. You wave your wand at the screen and up comes a selection screen. Each of the quest worlds are on the screen in pictures and with their names on them. You, for example, choose Snow White and you get a screen that either says “The Enchanted Forest has an XX minute wait. Would you like to play a mini-game for D-Points while you wait or come back another time?” or you get a screen that says “Your briefing is ready. Would you like to accept this quest? YES…NO” When you pick yes, The screen says “Go to one of the Enchanted Forest briefing rooms here in The Central Hub. Good Luck!” There are 3 briefing rooms for each world and they help you get into the mood of the story you are about to experience. You go to the Enchanted Forest briefing room. There is a miniature Mickey Mouse shape lighting up white in LED light.

These little mouse ears are the things on the objects where you wave your wand at. If you successfully cast your wand at the effect, the light in the Mickey head go off and a special effect comes to life. If not, nothing will happen. When the lights are of, you can’t cast at the item. The computers in the Central Hub will not let you on a quest with a broken effect. Here, though, the mouse ears are to open a door. If you cast your wand at them and they turn green, the door opens and you enter. If they turn red, then you can’t go in because you haven’t completed all of the tasks necessary to open the door. Go to one of the Central Hub’s screens or one of the many screens in the quest worlds to see what you’re missing. Here though, it turns green.

World Unlock – The Enchanted Forest

You enter the small room (big enough for a party of 8) and you see a large white and golden book reading “Snow White” on the cover in blue calligraphy of to the left of the room on a wooden book-holder thingy. There is a large mirror in the center of the room. If you don’t know what I’m getting at, you shouldn’t call yourself a Disney fan!

The doors close and The Magic Mirror’s face appears through the smoke and fire on the mirror. The fire disappears and the mirror starts talking (note: This is not the exact script): “Lips red as the rose… hair black as ebony… skin white as the snow… so you’d like to hear the story of Snow White, hmm? Very well…” The book starts to open up… “Once Upon a Time…” he says, reading the book… “… There lived a beautiful maiden named Snow White. She was the fairest in all the land. Her father married the Evil Queen and, with much grief, he died. The Queen envied Snow White for her beauty and forced her to work as a scullery maid, cleaning the castle and wearing rags. She thought that then she would have lost her beauty, but her inner beauty shined through all the same…” The page turns. “Now,” says The Magic Mirror, “Go and see Snow White on the steps of the Evil Queen’s castle on the XXXX floor ( Editor’s Note: Didn’t figure out the geography of where each world would go yet!).Your journey has just begun!” He disappears in the fire and the smoke in the mirror and the doors open to the opening credit music of the movie.

Clean The Castle

Next, you go out of the room, possibly up or down the elevator, and into the forest. There are trees everywhere. You can see that the trees are making a barrier splitting the land into 2 parts, the castle and the cottage (which you can’t see yet). In front of you is the castle. It’s not so big, but very imposing in some parts and quite friendly in others. There are stairs (and an ADA compliant elevator) leading up to the 2nd level. There are only 2 rooms and a corridor, but there are many secret passages snaking around the structure. There’s a large wishing well with a waist-height wrought-iron gate around it as well as a little gate opening with a light up mouse ears lock in it. There’s also some stone steps that you can’t get to due to another gate, but this time there’s no opening. If you look up at the balcony you’ll see a window with curtains blocking it. Under the window is a mouse ear. When you cast your wand at it, the curtains draw and the Evil Queen is revealed! On the blocked steps under the balcony is Snow White (An AA). On one of the steps is a Mickey ear symbol. Cast your wand at it and Snow White starts talking to you. She stops her work and says “Oh, hello! I’m Snow White. I’m not supposed to talk to strangers, but I’m getting so tired scrubbing these steps. I wonder if you can help me… will you please? I need you to help me find the mop, broom, bucket, and duster. There somewhere in this old place. Remember to search high and low! Then meet me here. Who knows how long I’ll be here! Oh well… good luck!” She then goes back to her chores.

Each of these cleaning stuffs has a little Mickey ear symbol and are hidden somewhere in the castle passages and alcoves. When you find the mop, wave your wand at the symbol and it starts sweeping the floor by moving back and forth on a pivot attached to the wall. A sweeping nose resonates. Next, you may find the bucket, which is on a little side table. Wave your wand and a spray of water hits you and a “SPLOOSH” sound comes out. The duster, standing up with the feathers on the floor and handle in the air, is right over there! Quick! Wave your wand at it! It spins around and makes what can only be described as a French maid giggle, a throwback to Beauty and the Beast. Finally you find the broom. It was all the way down at the entrance of the potion chamber! Wave your wand at it and it starts bouncing left and right as a familiar tune plays… hey, this is NOT Fantasia!

Finally you meet back up with Snow. Since you have all of the cleaning stuffs, she says “Oh, thank you so very much! Now, if I finish these chores, I’d like to show you a very special well quite close to here. Don’t worry about me, I’ll catch up. See you very soon!” You go to the well on the other side of the half-castle and flick your wand at the Mickey lock. The gate opens as a magic “Ding!” resounds. You hear Snow White clearly say “Want to know a secret?” The mini AA birds on the wishing well’s roof chirp. “Promise not to tell?” Chirp chirp! “We are standing by a wishing well! Make a wish inside the well, that’s all you have to do, and if you hear it echoing, your wish will soon come true!” You look inside the well and see real water! Wait, is that Snow White’s reflection? Yes! She sings “I’m wishing… (I’m wishing…) …for the one I love, to find me… (to find me…) …Today…” “Today!” The prince’s reflection appears! You hear the rest of the dialogue: “Oh!” “Hello.” “Did I frighten you?” “Wait. Wait, please. Don’t run away. Now that I've found you, hear what I have to say… One love, that has possessed me, one love, thrilling me through, One song, My heart keeps singing, Of one love, Only for you!” She says “Please, you have to leave! My stepmother, The Queen, will kill us both!”

Their voices trail off as you hear the voice of The Magic Mirror as he appears at the bottom of the well: “Ah, yes! Forbidden love! Snow White’s inner beauty shines through all! She is the fairest one of all. For completing the noble task of helping Snow White, I grant you this.” A medal with the wishing well on it appears for a moment, and then disappears into the depths of the well. The Mirror says “You can view this medal in the Central Hub room. Congratulations, you’ve completed this quest. You can continue your adventure by returning to the Central Hub Room and selecting “Continue Quest” on the screen. Or, if you decide to pick up later you may do that as well. I hope to see you soon.” And with that, he disappears into the flames.

Coming Soon: You & Snow White's journey through the evil forest!

Very nice idea! It's very creative how you use various different elements (the wand, Mickey symbols, etc.) to help enhance the gameplay and the storyline. And from what I've seen so far, it really feels at though the guests are actually in the Disney world's enviroment. It's also nice to see the smaller details, as well, like playing mini-games for points, while waiting in line. It really feels like an interactive theme park and would be a great addition to any resort. My only problem is that, if I were to go here, I would not leave until I did absolutely EVERYTHING, which probably would cost a lot of money and time, but it would definitely be worth it!

Did you see the MagiQuest website? It's very helpful in order to see the direction that I'm going in. Next part will be posted soon!

P.S. I forgot to add that each time you cast your wand and get a reaction, you get 100-1000 points. After each quest, you get a couple thousand points. At the end of your stay, you can exchange the points for not only items at the gift shop, but also new quests, special mini-games, DVDs, games, replica quest medallions, exclusive character merchandise, & more!

Who is the Fairest?

You go to the Central and put in YES in the “Continue Adventure?” box. (P.S. The computer will give you priority “virtual line” privileges if you are continuing an adventure.) The Magic Mirror appears in the screen! He says “Ah, yes, the tale of Snow White. Snow White met her Prince and she is certainly in love. But alas, the Queen sees the ordeal through her window. Every day, she would look into The Magic Mirror and ask ‘Who is the fairest in the land?’, and my response was always “You are, my Queen.”, but today she will know that it will all change. Go to the upper level of the castle and into the Queen’s chamber. And good luck.” He disappears in his flames. Following The Mirror’s directions, you go to the chamber. On your way, you pass by Snow White, the wishing well, and come to the stairs. The game is full of interactive things. For example, come to the top of the stairs and on one of the tree branches is the raven. If you cast your wand at the (Mickey) ears symbol on the branch, the raven squawks. The squawk is different every time, and once, you can hear him say “Nevermore!” Get it? ‘Cuz the poem, and the raven… and the… oh, forget it!

Anyway, you wave your wand at the ear lock in front of the chamber’s door and it turns green. Inside you see an AA Queen facing the magic mirror, but cheating out so you can see her speak. Also in the room is a small screen about a bit larger than an adult standing up and about the same width. There is the infamous “heart box” sitting on an ornate table in front of the turned Queen, and there is a fake window covered with curtains to simulate the Queen’s balcony visible outside. You enter the room as she recites:

“Slave in The Magic Mirror, come from the farthest space, from wind and darkness I summon thee. Speak!” With that, a loud crash of thunder is heard, the room darkens, and strobe lights flash as the mirror appears (a relative of Pepper’s Ghost) through the fire as the Queen says “Let me see thy face!” He says “What wouldst thou like to know, my Queen?” She replies “Mirror, Mirror on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?” He replies “Famed is thy beauty, Majesty, but hold, a lovely maid I see. Rags cannot hide her gentle grace. Alas, she is more fair than thee.” She says as she turns away from the mirror: “What? Reveal her name!” He says the famous lines “Lips red as the rose, hair black as ebony, skin white as snow…”

“Snow White! She exclaims. She then says “Quick! Fetch me the huntsman!” He says “As you wish, your majesty.” And he disappears into the flames. The huntsman runs in onto the screen in the room. “Yes, your majesty?” “About Snow White…” “The little princess?” “Yes… take her into the forest. Find some secluded glade where she can pick wildflowers.” “Yes, your majesty.” “And there, my faithful Huntsman… you will kill her!” “But, your majesty, the little princess…!” “Silence! You know the penalty if you fail.” “Yes your majesty.” But to be doubly sure… bring back her heart… in this.” The box on the table opens. The heart on the front of it glows. “Yes your majesty.” “Now, run along. She won’t kill herself!” “Yes, your majesty.” The queen notices you. “And you! Get out before I send the huntsman for you also!” As the scene ends, you hear a magic chime and the Queen freezes in place. The Mirror appears in his mirror and he says “Now, go to the edge of the castle and you will see a shining emblem. Cast your wand at it and the story will continue.” He disappears as she becomes “unfrozen”. She says: “Now, be gone! I have… matters to attend to.” She keeps shooing you out as the door on the other side of the room opens. You exit and follow The Mirror’s directions to a little area covered with trees. It looks as if you could walk through the trees to the dark area ahead, but a large bush is blocking your way. You cast your wand at the shining ears engraved into a tree.

You hear Show White scream! You then hear the huntsman say “I can't! I can't do it! Forgive me. I beg of Your Highness, forgive me.” “I don't understand.” “She's mad! Jealous of you! She'll stop at nothin'!” “But-- But who?” “The Queen!” “The Queen?” “Yes, now, quick, child, run! Run away, hide!” The bush moves away and the scary forest is revealed. You go inside. “Hide in the woods! Anywhere! Never come back! All around you are dead trees arching over you. There is a short entryway, but soon the path becomes disorienting and confusing with many mirrors and trees in the middle of the passageways. “Now, go! Go!” You hear. You hear a loud crack of thunder accompanied by several strobe lights of lightning. “Go! Run! Run! Hide!” The place is lit by blue lighting and U.V. lighting, with occasional lighting provided by the ear lights. The Mirror’s voice says “You cannot escape unless you can find at least 4 Mouse ear symbols and cast your wand at them.”

You start your frantic search. You come across a tree with the mouse ears glowing in the base of it. You cast your wand and the tree’s eyes light up and the branches on either side of it lunge toward you with a thunder crack! You scream and go to a large boulder in the ground. At the top of it is a symbol. You look down and cast your wand. A blast of air hits your face and you jump in surprise! Next, you see a hollow log lying on what appears to be a shallow pool of water. You cast your wand at the Mickey symbol next to it and the log transforms into a crocodile! It’s mouth chomps up and down and it’s eyes glow red as it moves towards you! You back away as you see a knothole in a tree. Over it is a pair of ears. You cast your wand at them and inside the hole you see several red eyes staring at you followed by a strobe light. Finally, you see a little clearing close to several spooky trees. In the leaves you can see a pair of ears glowing. You cast at them and a large strobe goes off, illuminating Snow White in the distance just beyond the trees (The same effect as on the ride).

Upon exiting the woods, you see a small clearing in which the lighting is much more gentle and green. There is a little gate at the end of the clearing that has the ears on it. When you cast at it, the trees become inhabited with cute little woodland creature’s eyes. Some creature even come out on little branches, like squirrels and birds. You hear Snow White say “Oh, I’m awfully sorry. I didn’t mean to frighten you, but you don’t know what I’ve been through! Oh, I’m so ashamed of the fuss I’ve made.” And the magic mirror’s voice echoes “The forest was nothing but woodland creatures, but the Queen’s threat is very real. For helping Snow White escape, I present you this medal. You may see it at one of the Quest Starters. You can continue this adventure if you go to one of the Quest Starters either at the central hub room or the trees next to the cottage. Goodbye.” And he’s gone in a flash.

P.S. What did I tell you? You can find this article on Disney’s Hawaii Hotel on Mouse Times.

Beyond activities for the whole family, the resort is being designed to respect and connect with the local culture of the Hawaiian islands. During the past year, the Walt Disney Imagineering team has been researching Hawai'i and working with local architects and cultural experts as part of the resort's creative design process. The resulting design is a village celebrating the Hawaiian customs and traditions that lead to a life filled with joy and in harmony with the natural world. To further incorporate Hawaiian traditions, cultural programming in the areas of environmental education, music, dance, history, and arts and crafts; a story-driven, technology-enabled adventure game; and other surprises come together to create a Hawaiian destination that's uniquely Disney.

Hmmm...

Wow! This really does keep getting better and better! I like how you combine the original Disney storyline with an adventure game, and then put all of the other details and interactive suprises. And you are also great with detailing the different rooms and events. What other types of Disney movie interactive adventures you have planned for your DisneyQuest? Keep up the always amazing good work!

Well, I have a great Hercules idea with action and "dueling" as a main focal point, an Alice in Wonderland one with great special effects and a couple of mirror maze portions, an Aladdin one with 2 main floors, and a Sleeping Beauty one that's kinda small, but has some of the greatest effects and the most challenging battle of all: Maleficent! Plus there's a Princess one scattered thorough the worlds, a small children one that involves learning about letters and numbers (and can be upgraded to include math, reading, virtues, history, etc. depending on age) that I really don't feel like doing as it's the most boring one of all, and a "Fantasmic!" finale to the end of the game (when there are no more adventures or quests to play through) that spans through all the worlds, plus a few secret places that can only be found in that specific quest. It's gonna be great!

P.S. Isn't that funny that they're going to create something like this in Hawaii's hotel? I CALLED IT!

Sorry about the delay... school right? A quickie today, so here we go:

Forest Friends

Now, you have a choice to either get your quests from the Central, or the “quest trees” in the forest, next to the Dwarf’s Cottage. In order to get back to the area with the Dwarf’s Cottage while bypassing the Scary Forest, you can go to a small gate on the side of the thick wall of trees blocking the castle from the forest. There, you can wave your wand at the lock and go right through to the Cottage and the bulk of the Enchanted Forest. The Mirror appears again. He says:

“Snow White journeyed beyond the 7 jeweled hills and beyond the 7th fall, to find that she was in company of the fairest creatures of all. Snow White has ventured into the small cottage here, and assumes that 7 small children live there. They aren’t very tidy, so Snow White has called upon her woodland friends to help her in hopes that the Dwarfs will let her stay. Some could not hear her, so find where the chipmunk, owl, deer, and bluebirds reside, cast a spell on them, and then return them to the cottage. Now, go and find them. Good luck.”

… and he’s gone.

You start your search. The large room that contains the Cottage and most of the Enchanted Forest is where you search. There are large tree trunks reaching all the way up into the ceiling, and the actual ceiling is blocked by a curtain of leaves. Light peers through them, and lighting-stencils (gobos?) project shadows of leaves all over the place. There are large bushes and hedges all around to create a natural feeling, and not to mention they’re great places to hide special effects!

To find the chipmunk, go to one of the trees in the forest. See the knothole with the light-up Mickey Ears in it? Cast at it and a little chipmunk pops up from inside the tree! A chime sounds, the chipmunk looks towards the cottage, and disappears back into the tree (or out of it, as if he’s going to see Snow.)

Next is the owl. You can find it near one of the bushes, on a tree branch. Note: You have to go BEHIND the branch to see him, as the leaves on the branch obscure him, and you have to cast at the Mickey. You cast at the emblem at his feet and (as the leaves part), you watch him twist his head around. At the sound of the chime, he starts flapping his wings and the leaves go back down.

The deer is not so hard. What you have to do is find a large clump of bushes, then find the opening inside the bushes. The deer is inside, and when you wave your wand at the Mickey right near it, the chime sounds and it turns it’s head toward the cottage. It also lifts it’s hoof up.

In the area where the treetops are a little lower, you can find the Bluebirds. When people are looking in the bushes and around the low branches, you spy a Mickey ears emblem right above your head. You cast your wand at it and, looking up, the bluebirds fly through the leaves in the treetop as the chime is heard.

There are other animals here, but they’re not important to the quest.

Now it’s time to go all the way back to the cottage. You cast at the ear lock on the door and it turns green. You enter the cottage and see three doors: one that leads upstairs, one towards the kitchen, and the last to the living room/music room. The one to the kitchen opens, and you see (thanks to the many limited-motion AAs and special effects, such as the running water and such) the animals cleaning while a Snow White AA sings “Whistle While you Work”. P.S. Get a secret bonus medallion if you cast at all of the animals. When the short selection ends, Snow says: “Now, let’s see what’s upstairs… I hope there are beds, I’m getting a little tired myself…” The fireplace roars with fire as the scene freezes in place. A hologram of The Mirror appears in the fireplace and says:

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to frighten you prematurely, but you have completed half of Snow White’s story. You have collected about half of the medals in the story, so I will award you access to the Trophy Room. The Trophy Room is located in the Central Hub. You can view your medals here, or you can continue to view them on the quest screens. First, I award you with the medal for this chapter. (the medal appear in hologram form, then disappears) Soon, you will meet the “children”, and finally find out if Snow White will meet her prince. Until next time, goodbye.” He disappears into ash as the scene starts up again. “… but we can’t keep this room in such a mess! Come now, we’ve got a lot of work to do!” The doors open and you leave to the sounds of cleaning

Wow! This is amazing! Everything about this is absolutely perfect. The side quests, medallions, and suprise bonuses really add to the interactive experience. Keep working on this project!

Sorry for the long absence, but today I’m planning to finish The Enchanted Forest. After I finish it, I’ll probably open up a side project and then get back to this later. But until then….

DisneyQuest: The Enchanted Forest – Pt. 2

Heigh – Ho!!

You go back to the quest trees and flick your wand at the screen. You choose “Continue Quest” and you are once again greeted by The Magic Mirror. He says

“So you’ve decided to continue your adventure, hmmm? Let me fill you in on the details. Snow White has recently gone to sleep in the cottage of 7 of what she thinks are small children. Little does she know that the occupants of the cottage are not 7 orphaned children, but 7 Dwarves. She, in fact, came into their house while they were at work. Your quest: find each of the 7 Dwarfs in the mine across the small log bridge and return all of their gems to the mine cart somewhere in the mine. You will receive further instruction upon your retrieval of the gems."

…And you’re off! Firstly, you have to cross the small log bridge very close to the cottage. This is a mimic of the much larger version in the movie when the dwarfs march across at the end of Heigh-Ho. There is a large waterfall next to it.

You make it to the mine and there is a cornucopia of lights and sounds inside. You hear the picking of shovels and axes in time to a “Heigh – Ho” instrumental. There are fiber-optics imbedded everywhere, and all of the cave walls have a glossy type of finish. It’s not at all scary, and never does it feel eerie and lonely. Occasionally, you can see very large gems. Cast at them and you’ll get extra points. Cast at all of them in the whole cave and you’ll get a new medal!

The 7 Dwarfs:

Doc: To find Doc, look for a track for a mine cart overhead. On one of the carts is a Mickey symbol. Cast at it and the cart will start to sparkle. Doc pokes his head out of it.

Happy: To find Happy, just follow the sounds of laughter to a small opening in the cave, leading to a secret cavern. Although you can’t get into the cavern, you can cast at the Mickey symbol just next to it. When you do, sparkles come from the small cavern and Happy pops out, still laughing.

Sneezy: Hey, feel that wind coming from that little passageway near the entrance of the cave? You investigate the little walkway and, when you come to a corner, you see Sneezy’s actually causing the wind. He’s sneezing up a storm! You cast at the Mickey symbol near him and he sneezes once again, and you see (fiber-optic) gold dust float around his nose!

Dopey: You go into another little room in the cavern and see a big pile of gems. Well, cast at the Mickey symbol on one of the gems and the gems start to sparkle. Dopey pops out of the top of the gem heap with two gems in his eyes, wiggling his ears!

Grumpy: Grumpy is in another small corridor. He’s not hiding, just pouting and leaning on his pickax. When you cast next to him at the Mickey Symbol, the area around him sparkles and he says: “Rotten kids…”

Bashful: Bashful’s just a little shy, so go over to one of his favorite hiding spaces… behind a rock. Find it and cast at the Mickey symbol on it. Bashful will bashfully peek out from behind it as the rock sparkles.

Sleepy: To find Sleepy, go to the very back of the cave and you’ll see another mine track on the ground. On it is a non-moving mine cart. Cast at the Mickey on it and the cart will sparkle as Sleepy wakes up and pokes his head out of the cart.

So you’ve found all Seven Dwarfs? Continue following Sleepy’s mine track to a little mine area and you’ll find an empty mine cart, but you can’t get a good look inside it due to a short fence-like rockwork blocking you. You cast at the cart and it suddenly fills up with all of the gems you’ve collected from The Dwarves! You hear Doc say: “Good day’s work, boys! Let’s go home! Heigh Hoooooo!!! Heigh ho, heigh ho, it’s home form work we go! (Etc…) You then hear the mirror. He says:

“Now head over to the cottage of the 7 Dwarf’s and upstairs into the bedroom. There the Dwarfs will find a guest.”

You do as the Mirror tells you and you head over to the cottage’s door. You cast at the Mickey Symbol Lock and it turns green. You go into the 1st door on your left (the only door that’s open) and head up the stairs. You then see 7 little beds, and 2 of them pushed together. On it is Snow White and the rest of the dwarfs are behind her in projection form. You see Snow White Wake up and the other Dwarfs around her. They say such things as: “Why, it-it- it’s a girl!” “She’s mighty pretty….” “Just like an angel.” “Angel, hah!” says Grumpy. He continues, “She’s a female! And all females is poison!” “Shh!! Not so loud you’ll wake her up!”. And she does wake. She says: “ I wonder if the children are… OH! Why… why, you’re all little men! How do you do?” No reply. “I said, how do you do?” “How do ya do what?” replies Doc. “Oh, you can talk. I’m so glad. Now don’t tell me who you are. Let me guess. I know you’re Doc.” She says to Doc. “Why- why- why yes! Yes! That’s true!” The conversation fades away as the magic mirror fades in behind them. He says:

“For introducing the 7 Dwarves to Snow White, you have won a reward.”

A medallion with a jewel on it appears and disappears.

And then he disappears. Finally the conversation draws to a close. “Oh, I forgot my manners. I’m Snow White.” “The little princess?” “Yes! My stepmother, the Queen…” “THE QUEEN?!?” Grumpy exclaims. “If the Queen finds us she’ll swoop down and wreak her vengeance on us!” “Oh, she’ll never find me here. And if you let me stay I can wash, and cook…” “COOK!!!” They all say. “Can you make us dapple lumpkin’s... uh… lumple daplin’s…” “Apple Dumplings??” “Yes, and plum pudding, and gooseberry pie…” “GOOSEBERRY PIE?!?!?!? She stays!!” “Ah, ah, ah.” She says. You’ll have to wash up…” “But we have washed…” “But when…?” “Why, last week- uh, month- year- … recently.” “Let me see your hands... Goodness me, this will never do! March straight outside and wash or you’ll not get a bite to eat.”

And as the dwarfs leave, you leave too.

Scrub Up

At the Quest Trees, you get your next mission briefing from The Magic Mirror.

“Before the Dwarves can eat dinner, they must wash up. Find these somewhere in the forest: a bubble symbol on a tree, a bucket and a wishing well. But be wary, you must journey back to the Queen’s Castle to find these items. Be quick as the wind and finish your task in 7 minutes, then return to the cottage through the gate. Then find the wash trough in the back of the cottage to blend the ingredients. Please remember to walk in the realm of DisneyQuest. Now go, as your 7 minute time limit starts now.”

You rush out of the gate that you came through and start your search. You rush, while walking, to the tree where you thought you saw a bubble carving. You go to it (It’s a little bit out of the way) and you cast at it. The bubble starts to glow and a lighting globo magically projects onto you and the tree while bubble sounds can be heard. Now, if you remember, the bucket was on a little side table in the castle. You cast at it and you get sprayed with water just like the first time you went to it as a “SPLOOSH!” sound effect plays. You finally go back to the wishing well and cast at it’s waist-high gate. When you are admitted in, you cast at the Mickey Symbol and you watch a ripple, well, ripple through the water when you look down.

You finally walk quickly to the gate, cast and go through, then finally find the water trough behind the cottage. You get there and you cast at it, and not a moment too soon. The troughs fill with “water”, and the air around you fills with bubbles while the washing song plays. The mirror says his usual spiel, and you’re done!

Is this the end of the Snow White section? It seems to end abruptly (Not that it's bad, it's just something that I noticed.) Keep up the good work!

Your ideas resemble Kingdom Hearts, except with you in place of Sora!

By the way, after you finish Snow White, what do you plan to do next?

NO FINALE FOR YOU!!! Finale comes tomorrow!

The Queen’s Wicked Spell

You go to the quest trees once more, and you wave your wand at the “portal” (screen) in the tree. You choose this quest and see the Magic Mirror make an appearance on the screen.

“Very good. You’ve settled Snow White into the forest. Now- I’m sorry, the Queen is summoning me. If you please, visit the queen’s mirror chamber and see what she’s up to. Before you enter, I must make you invisible to The Queen so she doesn’t suspect anything…

A swirling pattern appears on the screen, and you hear chimes tinkle. Then, the mirror fades back in:

“Please, find out what the Queen is up to!”

You go through the gate, up the stairs, and into the castle. You cast at the lock and enter. Inside is the Queen AA as seen before. She’s already summoned Mirror as you walk in.

“Magic Mirror on the wall, who now is the fairest one of all?

A period of silence.

“I command you, speak!”

Silence, then:

“Beyond the 7th jeweled hill, beyond the 7th fall, in the cottage of the 7 dwarfs, dwells Snow White, fairest one of all.”

“Snow White lies dead, in the forest…the huntsman brought me proof. Behold! Her heart.”

She motions to the box, which glows.

“Snow White still lives, fairest in the land. ‘Tis the heart of a pig you have held in your hand.”

She’s not very happy.

“THE HEART OF A PIG?!?!?!?!” Then I’ve been tricked! The heart of a pig… that blundering fool! I’ll go myself to the Dwarf’s cottage...in a disguise so complete no one will ever suspect…”

The mirror freezes time. “Go to the dungeon. I fear that Snow White will be in danger. Go, now! And try to prevent The Queen from creating a spell… cast at the potions as she says their names. I will enchant them to help you find them. Now hurry, I can’t freeze her for much longer.”

You get to the bottom of the stairs, into what is basically the basement of the castle. You cast at the door and enter. It’s all lit up in blacklight, ad there are rats and skeletons all over. There’s a large rack of potions right behind you, and in front of you is a large cauldron, a large spell book angled out so you can see it (closed now) and the queen in dimensional screen form (i.e. Nemo @ The Seas). There’s a little window with gratings on the wall with the potions, and when you look out, you see eternal night. There’s also several test tubes and beakers bubbling furiously.

The Queen starts by saying:

“Now, a formula to transform my beauty… into ugliness. Change my queenly raiment to a peddler’s cloak.”

The book flips open to show a page saying “Peddler’s Disguise”

“Mummy Dust to make me old.”

The mirror chimes in:

“Cast at the Mummy Dust!”

The dust lights up with miniature strobe lights inside. If you cast at it, you get a “point” and The Queen screams. If not, nothing. This continues in the same manner for the rest of the potions:

“To shroud my clothes, the black of night!” (a bottle jiggles as a spot is cast onto it)
“To age my voice, an old hag’s cackle!” (a large barrel with steam coming from it)
“To whiten my hair, a scream of fright!” (One of the beakers flashes, and yes, the scream is piercing!)
“A blast of wind to fan my hate!” (On the potion shelf at eye level. When cast at, there’s a tremendous blast of wind!)
“A thunderbolt to mix it well…” (You can’t miss. A strobe fills the room and a loud thundering sound echoes)

No matter how skilled you are at potion-casting, she still transforms. Sorry.

“Now, begin my magic spell!”

Tremendous amounts of smoke cover the screen and cover the room in green fiber optics. She is seen transformed on the screen.

“Quick, escape while you can!”

…Mirror says as the smoke clears. The doors open as the Queen walks off screen to think of her devious plot…

(BTW, when you go back to a quest screen, you are greeted by the mirror, who tells you your score on the potion game:

Bronze: 1 (lightning freebe)
Silver: 2-3
Gold: 4-5
Platinum: All 6

No matter what, he says good job, you tried hard and you’ll stop The Queen/Hag soon.)

The Silly Song Mini-Game

I really don’t have to go into detail here. Basically, you register with the Magic Mirror (it’s an optional thing) and you choose how many people you want to join you (up to 4). You then journey all the way to the Dwarf’s Cottage and play a Rock Band-esque game with large wooden instruments to the tune of “The Silly Song”. There’s a large screen projecting the Dwarfs and Snow. If you complete the challenge, you get a special trophy.
