DisneyPrincess5's Pre-Trip Report!

Hi all! :wave:

So we aren't going to WDW until January, but we've been SO excited lately, I have to share our upcoming trip with you guys!

The travelers:
Liz (Me, 22)

Social Work student and HUGE Disney fan! I live, eat, and breathe the stuff.
This will be my 10th trip, and in need of my WDW fix! Can't wait to ride ToT and Toy Story Mania!

Ryan (My wonderful boyfriend, 28)

Market Researcher, also a huge Disney fan, somewhat thanks to yours truly He cannot wait for the trip!
Also a lover of ToT, Philharmagic (as seen above!) and also Rock n Rollercoaster!

We went last year in January and going again this January...what a great break from the brutal winter weather of Connecticut!
We're bummed that Splash Mountain won't be open again this January, but super excited for the new and improved Space Mountain, as it is one of our favorites!

Where:
The beautiful, amazing Polynesian! Gotta love the monorail!

The Plan:
We will be staying from Friday January 8 to Saturday January 16!
We're doing the Around the World-On a Segway Tour at Epcot, which we are SUPER excited about! We've seen the tour, now we'll be a part of it!
We park hop a lot, and always try to do EMH.
We plan to visit DTD for a little bit and ride Characters in Flight.
Also, we will be visiting Universal for a day.

Dining Ressies:
Dinner at Chef Mickeys
Lunch at Sci-Fi
Lunch at San Angel Inn

I know just how you feel. My boyfriend and I are going January 5th-12th and we can already barely contain ourselves. 7AM, 90 days before check in, we were on the phone making our ADRs. We've re-watched all the videos on the Disney Travel On Demand channel. We're even planning what to pack already. It's a long countdown. I hope the two of you have lots of fun on your trip and in the excitement leading up to it.

Enjoy the trip. I already need my 'fix' and I was just down there in July.

You will love the Segway Tour, especially if you have never been on a Segway. The Segway is cool enough, but the tour offers a different look and a lot of great info that Disney fans like us eat up.

Just be sure to finish your tour in Mexico and try out the new Tequila bar. haha. They were just finishing it when I was down there, so I had to buy my margarita from 'street level' and bring it down to the 'plaza'.

So, have you done all the backstage/special tours at the other parks? Magic Kingdom one has to be my favorite just because it is MK, but have you done the DAK one? That one was amazing. Got to pet a rhino on my tour. Just amazing to see how well they take care of the animals compared to some zoos.

Ahh yes, the Segway tour...good point about how the Segway alone is cool, and adding Disney makes it even more awesome!

Oh that's cool! Well, I'm not too sure what area of SW I want to work in when I graduate...I'll almost take anything I can get :lol:, but my ultimate goal is to be a therapist one day.

I considered working in a group home for a while. I did my internship at one. It was an eye opening experience. And in the end, I decided it wasn't something I'd want to do full time. Being a therapist would be interesting. I would possibly have considered that if I had planned on doing grad school. But I just got too burnt out on school to go any further than undergrad.

We´ll be going on january too...but we´ll arrive at WDW on the 23 (first we will stop at NY and Washington). We will stay for 2 weeks and I hope to see some members there. it´s going to be funny looking at someone and thinking " is he/she from the forum?".

Ah you will dif. have to report on the Characters in Flight. My husband and I are debating on whether we should do it or not...Can't wait to hear about it. Have a fabulous time and i hope the 73 days fly by!

We must set up a meet-up for the wdwmagic peeps! We'll be there the 8th thru the 17th at AKL. I'm so jazzed I can't stand it. I should do a pre-trippie thread to document the trials & tribulations of being the planner for my completely insane family along with my in-laws..:lookaroun..no pressure. :lol:

You'll love the Segway around the world thing at Epcot. My old man & I did that back in December 2007. My aunt came to visit us a couple days and offered to take the boys while we did something grown-up. We felt like little kids. And had a blast! Here's a pic:

And the Poly is awesome! Are you doing any room requests??? My brother & I asked for Tokelau and got it. We loved the location. I think my favorite thing was being able to hit the Kona Coffee Bar every morning for my early fix. MMMmmmmmm....:slurp:

Yep, we requested Raratonga...we stayed there last time and loved it. Hopefully we'll get it again, but you never know 'til you check it. We had a nice garden/pool view and it's super close to the Great Ceremonial House which means closer to the monorail and food!
