Disneymike93's Thanksgiving/Start of Christmas Vacation at Bay Lake Tower!

:xmas::xmas::xmas:

This is my family's 77th trip to WDW! keeping count since 1993(when we moved to FL from NY)!!!!
One of our first trips as a family was in Dec '93, and we keep coming back at least 4x per year! Now after 15 years of counting and keeping track of our total # of trips since '93, we reached 77!

Today is 11/23/09, the day before my long awaited stay at Bay Lake Tower. We have been owners at BoardWalk since '97. Now, since December '08, we own at Bay Lake Tower and have much anticipated its opening.

Tomorrow, We will be getting up around 9 and driving to WDW, which takes about 2.5 hours from our driveway, to the welcome arch. Everything is packed and ready to go and we have gotten all of our Thanksgiving dinner supplies ready.

We finished cooking one of our traditional courses for our dinner that we have each year and are bringing them along with us on the drive. We made Italian Wedding Soup which is one of our traditional appetizers for Thanksgiving Dinner. We bought our turkey yesterday to cook in the villa and all the things were going to need, even cold cuts from our local Italian deli to make our traditional antipasto.

On this trip there are my family of 4, my mother-in-law, and 2 of our friends who recently bought a resale at OKW . Another treat is that our DVC guide will be stopping by Thanksgiving to have dinner with us. I talked to him recently about adding more points and invited him to dinner. He said he would be more than glad to come. Also, one of our dear friend who is a waitress at Chef Mickeys, whom we've known for 15 years, will also be joining us! So it's a full house (or should I say villa) on Turkey day!

We will be in a One bedroom Magic Kingdom view for 5 nights, and have already requested a room of our choice.

Okay, so we recently revised our dinner ADR's.....again.
Here's what we've got:

11/24/09: Cape May Cafe
11/25/09: Chef Mickey's
11/26/09: Thanksgiving in the villa
11/27/09: Artist Point
11/28/09: Candlelight Processional 6:45, Les Chefs de France.

This is the first year in 9 nine years we will be missing MVMCP, since they dont offer it the week we are up there. We were going to drive up in Dec. for one night to go to MVMCP, but decided against it. We figured it'd be okay to miss this year because we'll still see the castle lit up, MK decor, etc, so it really didnt make a difference.

Next time I write I will have checked in and will be posting TONS of pictures of our room, the tower, pool, etc.

Cant wait!
See you tomorrow!

We arrived at Bay Lake Tower around 2:00. Our room was ready which was a pleasant surprise. We have a One bedroom MK view on the 8th floor! We spent some of the afternoon hanging out at the Contemporary and exploring the new BLT, which is now my newest favorite DVC resort.

Our room is immaculate and couldnt have asked for a better one. Im so grateful.

We ate dinner last night at Cape May Cafe which was, as always, fantastic. We saw the Beach Club's Chocolate Gingerbread Caroussel in the lobby.

After dinner we went back to the Contemporary to take the monorail to the Magic Kingdom for SpectroMagic (fav. parade).

Would somebody please tell me how to upload pictures from my laptop to this thread because I have TONS of pics I would love to share. (of the tower, room, spectroMagic, etc)

Today, its back to the Magic Kingdom, and tonight, Epcot for Illuminations! Also, were planning on stopping by the Grand Floridian for the holiday decorations

Thank you!
and more reporting to come!

In your profile you can create a photo album, create the photo album and then you can upload the pics from there and then the icon in the area where you write your posts that is yellow and has a mountain on it that is the button you use to add pics to your thread. Steve has it set up where each individual pic has it's own HTTP so you just copy that into the URL box that comes up and it will place them in the thread...

Another great day at Disney!

Woke up at around 8 for our Ohana breakfast at 9:05.

Headed over to the Magic Kingdom, which was practically empty until about noon. We walked right on Splash Mountain! We even did Peter Pan.

Afterwards, we boated over to Grand Floridian to see the beautiful Christmas decor. We visit each year, and its just overwhelming. Bought a few items from the Gingerbread House.

After we headed over the Bay Cove Pool for about an hour, which is so much fun! I love that slide!

Our California Grill reservation was at 7 so we headed up ther for another AMAZING dinner!

We monorailed over to Epcot for Illuminations! Then headed right back to Bay Lake Tower, because we were just exhausted.

Tomorrow we're planning to stay in the room to cook Thanksgiving dinner, and watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!!

Dinner is at 2 so afterwards we'll head back to the Magic Kingdom for the Disney Thanksgiving Parade!
