I expect a madhouse, but nothing like Orlando. Do those people work in Orlando? Southern Californians might have a better chance of riding without the big tourist crowds.

Orlando wasn’t bad. I was there.

I think the California APs are going to be wilder.

It's not bad that people showed up at 4 to 5 am and boarding passes were gone by 7 - 8 am. This is still continuing at DHS.

Doesn’t sound too bad to me. Get there an hour before opening and get a boarding pass? And don’t have to wait in a 4 hour line and enjoy the rest of the park while I wait for my return time? Sign me up. Of course that’s assuming you get one. If I wake up at 5am I better be getting one.

No
i rarely see television so do not know how the promotional side for the ride has been.
I also haven't really noticed much of anything in regards to street signage advertising the ride. I have seen it being advertised in movie theaters before the trailers start, so has anyone noticed much advertising or is Anaheim going to screw up again and try to play it safe and then have non media worthy news about the opening

I am also surprised that we didn't here anything about another media preview.
In the past 3 or 4 weeks I've seen at least 2 or 3 commercials a day for it on television.

It's also your fault if you show up at 7am and there's a line and the boarding passes are already gone once you entered the park.
Are there actual reports of this happening or is this just hyperbole? I can't imagine a whole day's worth of boarding passes are in line first thing in the morning. Reports I've heard are that it's more like 10 or 10:30am when they run out.

This is the recent data from Touring Plans. Back up Boarding Group closures look to be all over the map.

Have you even read the WDW Forum section? Hundreds of posts on this subject. No one every said the boarding passes will last to 10 or 10:30am.

BG Closures are aligned very closely to BG Open. You can't trust BG Backup. There's no guarantee you'll ride. Maybe that's why many people don't bother getting a Backup BG and opt out of trying.

So if you are in line to get in the park and you get stuck behind a family of fifteen from Seattle that have no clue how to use the travel agent issued tickets at the front gate, you have to wait for all of them to be photographed and issued tickets before you can enter. By then all the boarding passes are gone thanks to that group.

What do you mean “no clue”? Everyone is expected to have their voucher replaced with a laminated park ticket and take a photo. The only problem is their large group. And don’t get stuck behind a large family with many young kids and strollers, or elderly on electric wheelchairs. YOU should be the alert one and avoid getting stuck behind them. Or get to the park super early.

so anyone hear that some guests at DHS were upset because they only got to experience only half of the ROTR ride.

supposedly they were allowed into queue and then sent thru a backstage door skipping the preshow and the shuttle section of the ride and escorted back into the show building thru a Castmember door and directly unto the trackless portion of ride.

said it was so confusing because they didn't see any part if the beginning of the story line for ride.

It sounds like they wanted to keep line moving while they reset the pre-show. Supposedly they also did not compensate the guests with a possible fastpass for other ride or for return to the ride the full attraction People got upset because many were there early for park opening.

I experienced ROTR completely alone. No one in any of the pre shows with me... no one in the Star Destroyer but me and the First Order crew. Very unnerving. The First Ordsr cast is all doing great work!

I’ve ridden it 6 times now... all without a wait. The joys of being a cast member :)

Today, all effects were working great. The Kylo Encounter was working perfectly. The ride took a while to load but I think that was more because of training, rather than any technical difficulties.

Yes, it happened for a short while.

Ops had to decide: empty the queue until that part of the preshow was fixed, or, have guests skip it.

Anyone who complained to guests services got the usual compensation.

If the stretching room for HM wasn't working, would you have Ops close down HM completely, or have guests skip it?
