We all know that Disney will have to do something with Tomorrowland soon, what do you want to see?

  • Demo it and start over with a new theme.

  • Demo it and start over with same theme.

  • Demo everything but Space Mountain and keep same theme.

  • Demo everything but Space Mountain but retheme the land.

  • Remove only certain attractions but keep the same theme.

  • Remove only certain attractions but retheme the land.

  • Go retro and bring back '67 Tomorrowland.

  • Don't touch Tomorrowland at all, leave everything the way it is, its my favorite land!

Lately Disney has been pretty much cloning attractions. It seems reasonable to expect a similar size show building.

If it was me, I’d do TRON mostly outdoors on the peoplemover right of way (with heavy modification obviously) and a short indoor section / loading where the old carousel building is. (Yes similar to rocket rods, if you let a coaster company build it they’ll be fine :p ).

Except they haven't done a complete gut and rebuild of an entire land since the last time they did TL in 1967. So this is not the same as just cloning a single attraction.

If it was me, I wouldn't base a new ride on TRON at all. A high speed, thrill coaster traveling through the area, yes, but keep it based on futuristic travel. I'd love to see Tomorrowland become a cohevise place again, with everything based upon an optimistic view of what humanity can achieve with architecture and engineering.

Actually I would be fine with them taking Tron and using a different theme.

If they put the Tron coaster in TL it won't look pretty. It physically can't. It doesn't look good from many angles in the park it was designed for, it'll have even more issues in WDW, and it would be so egregiously out-of-scale in DL nevermind its exposed showbuilding and stylistic mismatch that I can't even begin to imagine it there. If it does indeed happen many of you will be in for a rude awakening.

The Buzz retheme rumors don't surprise me because it's a Pixar attraction outside of Pixar Pier. ICE is coming for you Buzz. Guests fundamentally enjoy theme parks just like you enjoy cohesive work in any aspect of entertainment, yet too many folks in the company are pushing for brand parks where things are divided by brand regardless of theme, therefore diluting the quality and the brand of the park itself!

Current rumors from who? I’m not arguing, just trying to get an idea of how serious the rumors are.

Its been discussed in this thread. But the rumors have been happening for awhile now. Its gotten a lot of traction recently as more and more sources put it out there, including Micechat having an article on it.

I’m of the uncommon belief that Tron will actually look better in MK than Shanghai. I’m evidently no WDW defender.

But MK still has somewhat of a berm and Space Mountain to box in the egregious views that plague Shanghai (versus the Star Wars Experience and Toy Story Playland).

Shanghai you can essentially circumnavigate 3/4 of the building and approach it from above grade. MK I think will only be accessible head on from the ground.

Tron looks nice from the approach.

I mean the Tron Cover will probably leak into areas that are less desirable. But at least not a big box

The insiders in this thread have mentioned
-people mover track coming down
-retheme of buzz
- TRON coaster

Anything else?

A TRON coaster means something will go (Star Wars building and / or COP) but not the entire land.

The "insiders" also claim that the rocket ride was potentially going to be rebuilt where it used to be, but they just didn't do it. It just raises more questions as well as doubt that anything else they claim to be happening will actually happen.

So with TL rumors hot right now do we think they ll announce something at D23? Maybe this is why they were bold enough to announce the Mickey ride coming to DL on the parks blog.

I get the impression TRON would be replacing Star Tours based on the MiceChat article saying one of the loops would be near the hub.

Martin in particular has very accurate, almost oddly accurate, sources. He doesn't pull out of his . If he says something is in the cards it's actually in the cards. Of course, things get cancelled and changed, which makes it so easy for us to say "oh he was wrong" when in fact he was right at the time. And despite that, there's plenty of evidence to back the fact that Martin is legit.

Oh it might look better in MK (vs SDL) but I don't think it'll look better in WDW (vs SDR). From the monorail and around the resort, that glorious view of Space Mountain will be diminished, and that's what has me most disappointed. The sightlines in the Seven Seas Lagoon area are very, well crafted.

Fair enough, albeit Toy story hotel literally stares at the backside of the attraction.

Bay lake/contemporary won’t be great, but I hold out hope for a bit of a berm still.
