Rumor Disneyland Tomorrowland Future - What to do?

We all know that Disney will have to do something with Tomorrowland soon, what do you want to see?

  • Demo it and start over with a new theme.

  • Demo it and start over with same theme.

  • Demo everything but Space Mountain and keep same theme.

  • Demo everything but Space Mountain but retheme the land.

  • Remove only certain attractions but keep the same theme.

  • Remove only certain attractions but retheme the land.

  • Go retro and bring back '67 Tomorrowland.

  • Don't touch Tomorrowland at all, leave everything the way it is, its my favorite land!

The chances of that happening are as slim as my chances of marrying that plus size model I look at online.

They’ll most likely sink the structure underground to not dwarf the castle or Matterhorn, like they did with Space Mountain and Thunder Mountain. Or at least I hope they would.

Hmm, I wonder if the deep show building for the subs is part of the reason for this rumored placement. They’d still need to dig more, but not as much.

I just stopped by to say that there is no guarantee that a brand new TL will be a hit. There will be plenty of IP Invovled (that may or may not work) and plenty of trade offs. Losing the interwoven Subs/ monorail/ Autopia. You’d hope that they will replace the remaining kinetic energy in TL with new kinetic energy - more than just a glimpse of the Tron Coaster. You also lose things like wonderfully retro TL terrace and maybe even little things like the wonderful neon Star Trader sign and floating Mickey. With that said, I think (and hope) that a brand new TL would give us a net gain in aesthetics, kinetic energy, capacity and just an overall cohesive vision for the land.

You’re citing a lot of attractions that closed at some point in Tomorrowland’s history and brought back. Tomorrowland is barely anything today. More rides were removed than kept. That’s the problem with the need to update Tomorrowland like it’s a world’s fair. IP’s will save it from the constant updates. I don’t get why people love the Retro look. It’s not uniquely Disney. It’s borrowed from another era. I love the Tron cycles. This is the natural evolution of the cycle attraction that was promised in the past and never delivered until now. It is a good compromise that would otherwise be the Star Wars Speeder Bike.

I'm too lazy to recall who said it, but someone suggested they overhaul the PM tracks and make that the Tron coaster. I support that. Enclose the PM tracks, but make it so people can see through and every so often you've got the awesome kinetic energy visuals of seeing people woosh by overhead.

You always try to take my posts where there is a lot of gray area and make them black and white

No, you’re trying to be black and white while I’m citing the gray areas.

First, saying it’s not guaranteed to be a hit? What qualifies as a hit?

Second, IP may not work. Since when? Etc

It's a nice idea but the PM tracks are being removed and there's nothing that can stop that. I wish they could go back and just put the PM back but sounds like the damage done by the Rocket Rods installation along with neglect have taken it's toll.

Ok again something is lacking in the reading comprehension area.

Why are you paying attention to my “non sense” again anyway?

Maybe they're tearing them down to put up better, sturdier ones.

OK, I know its a far-fetched idea. But looking up and seeing people whoosh by in enclosed tubes like that would give the land a unique flair that spinning rocket jets just don't satisfy.

Looking at it instead of giving the best experience is how we got Rocket Rods. The People Mover tracks cannot support vehicles going faster than a golf cart.
