There isn't a teenage daughter in the SFR movie. Making it inspired by SFR instead of based on it allows them these kind of freedoms. They can add and remove things as they wish without people saying, "That wasn't in the movie!"
Exactly. And it gives them creative freedom in the reboot movie also. The tree doesn't have to be a literally telling of either one.

My only quibble with the name (and it IS a quibble, not a full complaint) is, once again, we have a name that is a mile long with that "inspired by" subtitle. Why not just call it Adventureland Treehouse and be done with it? Is WDI paying their naming staff by the letter? 🤣

Don't they know we are all just going to call it "the treehouse" anyway? Again, just a quibble. Overall, this is a great announcement.

I must think differently than everyone else, because I didn't consider that it was part of the name, but more like a footnote on the sign. Kind of like "Presented by Dole".

Soon to follow suit:
Pirates of the Caribbean: inspired now by the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise films once inspired by the attraction but also with lazy elements to tie in the terribly aged sequels to the ride that is originally inspired by Adventure Island by Walt Disney Studios based on the book by Robert Louis Stevenson.

Sounds like modern Disney again taking things too seriously. Just call it Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse. They take things so seriously these days. Who cares if its not the same as a 60 year old movie.

Just like no one cared that Galaxy's Edge Timeline was suddenly "broken".

WDI forgets they create themed entertainment and now think they are "storytellers".

But it’s not Swiss Family Robinson, therefore naming it as such is inappropriate.

New Orleans Square isn't New Orleans either but it doesnt have some weird name like "Ralphie's Cajun Street Inspired by New Orleans". I feel it would if modern WDI made it. Just like Star Wars Land is called "Galaxy's Edge" "Batuu" and "Black Spire Outpost". And also the weird subtitles added to so many ride names now.

Sometimes simple is better. I think guests understand its a themepark and anyone who takes it seriously enough to be mad at it not being "the real swiss family robinson" likely is never going to be pleased anyways. Just give things normal names.

It all started with "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire: Play It!".

New Orleans Square emulates the real New Orleans. Adventureland Treehouse will not emulate the same treehouse from SFR. That’s the difference. It’s loosely inspired by it. There seems to be some S.E.A. references as well going into this project. If this was actually a direct copy of what’s in the film, they would have more than likely called it “Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse.” However, it’s not. As pointed out already, there is no teenage daughter in the film, and the family didn’t build their home on an island called “Jungle River.” This is a new family they’ve made up for this attraction.

Indeed. This could include references to future SEA projects, Jungle Cruise 2, SFR D+ series, etc...

It would be nice if they kept up with the updates like Avengers Campus keeps up with new MCU content.

Whatever happened to the HatBoxGhost guy? You know, the ramp guy?
A large number of people just wound up call him out as a troll for declaring every Disney movie a flop, even the ones that made hundreds of millions of dollar (which is pretty much a perfect example of trolling).

And it was pretty much the cause of him losing posting privileges, but he could still read. Last time he was here reading was in March.

A cautionary tale for sure for two people currently stalking the Disney movies forum doing the same thing.
