I suppose I'm pleasantly surprised - this seems like more of a win than I thought was reasonable to expect.

I do find it odd that they wouldn't just call it the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse. It's seems that's basically what they're doing with it, give or take a few creative liberties. If you're going to namedrop them on the sign, why not just go all the way?

But hey, I'm super glad it's not Encanto or some other ill-fitting property. It's rare to have a new unique and original concept for Disneyland these days, so I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

I also think they are working into the structure. MiceChat had some photos back in the day showing they had peeled right to the structure.

Might be doing some serious inspection to ensure the structure is good.
I agree. Tarzan must have been up for 20 years. I personally don’t remember it ever being refurbished, at least not within the last five years.

Calling it the "Adventureland Treehouse" gives them more liberty to add characters (maybe from Encanto) to meet there or synergize in other ways down the road. It also seems like a careful admission that there isn't really enough going into the new treehouse to tie it to the original Swiss Family Robinson or the new show.

Something about the name makes me feel like this might be a temporary retheme, that they re not super confident about it’s success or that they view the treehouse as something that will have revolving themes. Maybe they re viewing this as the Magic Band Treehouse with (insert theme) here. I’m guessing most of the work here is on the actual structure/ safety of the treehouse and not the new theming.

Or maybe it’s just a weird name. Why not just call it Swiss Family Robinson treehouse? I’ve realized that my assumptions are based on my view of the Disney company of old that was more predictable (and perhaps more rational) pre social media days where they didn’t feel the need or have the pressure to put out content non stop. Take this for example- when Potrock announced that DL’s version of MMRR would have “new scenes.” In the past if Disney said this it would mean there was a actually a new scene. Now we know he was embellishing and stretching the truth as he was really referring to scenes being staged differently and perhaps the queue if you want to give him the benefit of the doubt.

that would certainly align with the "kaleidoscope" name.

I'd also be interested in seeing how they end up decorating the scenes. Prop purchasing for items from the 1800s is increasingly difficult, so it wouldn't surprise me at all, if this is filled with items coming from a far more recent date, or newer items that just look "oldish." Makes it hard to set to a specific time period (which swiss family would be).

i was talking specifically about the name. the concept art doesn't look bad
I see, there are similar naming conventions in the park like fantasyland theater or tomorrowland terrace. It makes me think that it may be used for other reasons in the future. Maybe as a meet n greet spot.

Seems to me like they wanted to synergize with the upcoming show and started creating the new SFR treehouse. Now after seeing development footage the execs aren't 100% sold on whether it will be a success and didn't want to fully pull the trigger, so they decided to call it Adventureland Treehouse inspired by SFR so that if the show fails no harm no foul, but if the show succeeds they can give it the proper name and add whatever additional elements from the show they want.

At the end of the day I don't think they have confidence in their own upcoming show.

It would be nice if they incorporated MB+ elements to the tree, but since there's no mention of it I'm not banking on there being any when it opens. Maybe in the future.
