News Disneyland to give Tarzan’s Treehouse a new theme

Disney fans rarely visit Mr. Lincoln either but God help Disney if they decide to remove it.

I should've included Lincoln in my "take-a-breather" attractions list; it just feels essential to me. That said, I'll admit to visiting Lincoln far less often than I climb the treehouse. I don't love it any less, but it's a bit more of a time commitment (you have to wait for a show to end, then sit through the entire show).

I wonder if most Disneyland fans in 2022 would actually be up-in-arms if Lincoln were replaced. I suspect most wouldn't be particularly bothered (which is kind of the vibe I'm getting re: the treehouse).

please turn your attention to the abandoned peoplemover track

...yeah that treehouse is just gonna be a tree for a looooooooooooong time
almost forgot the tomorrowland entrance redo that's been going strong for two years and counting!
At least the Peoplemover & Tomorrowland entrance are in theme within their land, as everyday that passes their completion date is sometime tomorrow.

I love the Lincoln show. I make an effort to see it every trip (though sometimes it's randomly closed since they use the theater for cast trainings).

I got a backstage tour of the attraction once. Got to go up on the stage, touch the figure (Did y'all know the Tony Baxter and Kim Irvine signed the paper he's holding since they worked on the project to bring the show back?), and go underneath to see all the machinery. So I like it for the personal connection and the history, and the fact it's just a delightful attraction that's far more refined than anything they'd make today.

I would be very sad to see it leave.

You got to touch the figure? Didn't realize until just now that I've always wanted to do that.

I hope the attraction sticks around (in some iteration or another) for years to come. One thing WDW does better than DLR is thoroughly-sincere, idealistic attractions celebrating American history and political values (Hall of Presidents, American Adventure, Carousel of Progress); I kind of wish this sensibility (wildly outdated and arguably problematic in today's world) had more of a presence at Disneyland.

I really believe that if Lincoln is to leave Disneyland he/it should be donated/relocated to either 1) the Smithsonian museum of American History; 2) The Lincoln library/museum in Illinois; or 3) the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco.

Since it started as a World’s Fair attraction it really should be eventually retired as a museum piece when/if the times comes. Lincoln also is still also probably among the most relevant historical figures in these divided times.

I love Lincoln, but the park doesn’t need any more attractions dedicated to America and American patriotism. DL alone is enough Americana itself.
I love that part of Disneyland! There's much that is not good about our country (like every other one) but there is also so much that is honorable, noteworthy, and unique. Even though we are far from perfect, I've traveled the world (its my job), and we in the USA have it very, very well in comparison.

It’s a personal tastes thing. It’s not that I think we have it awful here. I’m just not a patriotic person (I don’t stand for the National Anthem, unless it’s for one of Whitney Houston’s renditions) and the over-abundance of patriotism in this country is frankly annoying and sometimes makes me feel uncomfortable (and even unsafe). I don’t want to see more of that at Disneyland, personally.

Again, just personal tastes.

On the Inside Disney podcast, Ken Potrock, mentioned that it's a "fresh IP" taking over the treehouse. So don't expect Swiss Family back, and Encanto is sounding like a pretty good bet.

He also confirmed it's a Kim Irvine project. I'll wait while y'all grab your torches and pitchforks.
She did so well with the Snow White make over, but I am still not over them all taking selfies with that ugly pelican landing like they built one of the 8th wonders.
