Is it out of the question to wonder if what we're seeing isn't going to be the final texture?
Doing a swirl finish is a good bit of work that provides traction for walking surfaces. It also appears rather level with the adjacent surfaces. Adding something on top would have to be no more than ½” thick with a specific edge profile but would still likely be a tripping hazard.

I wonder if Disney’s aware the GP is pretty much done and past Encanto. It was a pleasant surprise of a film months back, but now everyone’s sick of Bruno while Chip n’ Dale are dancing up the charts with Kate Bush.

No one’s asking for an Encanto sequel; its world is about as deep as a wrapped slice of Kraft cheese (and this is coming from someone who loves the movie.)

That said, Antonio’s treehouse in the film is every child’s dream come true. If done well, it could be a charming retheme. Given recent Imagineering results, I’m expecting flavorless applesauce.

I dont that think that’s true, when I was at Disney World one of the most common characters kids were dressed up was Mirabel. I saw plenty of adults Disneybounding as Isabella, Mirabel and Luisa. Heck people were excited about the Encanto garden from Flower and Garden and lids were happy to see the characters here with one of them saying its like we’re in casita!

Then of course statistically Encanto has pretty much remained the most streamed movie since its release according to Nielsen’s streaming charts. And Encanto is still doing fine on the Billboard 200 currently in the 13th spot above many popular artists and abums wuch as Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles, Queen, Kendrick Lamar, etc

Half a billion minutes of Encanto was watched the first week of May.

So far, more the 20 Billion minutes have been watched.

Yes, it's peaked, but it's not 'done with' any more than 'Let It Go' is done with.

No one’s asking for an Encanto sequel;
You've polled the whole world?! 🤨

I agree. 👍

As well as a great South America flora and fauna dark ride in DAK. ;)

What is this need for Disney fans to defend this mediocre movie? They make it out to be the biggest thing since Frozen. Are we really that starved for decent Disney entertainment?
Pointing out the billions of minutes watched, the high ratings from critics and audience, and the weeks atop the Billboard charts are simply this: Facts.

Now, how do you interpret those facts? Most common sense people would presume that Encanto is insanely popular. That is, many people genuinely like it.

You however ignore what the facts are implying, but instead employ some type of ad hominem that there's something wrong with Disney fans who are blindly defending it because they're Disney fans, and that the recitation of those facts is just a broken defense of what you think is a lackluster movie. Because you don't like it, you attack those who do.

Ad hominem.

Just because it is Disney and popular doesn't make it good.
Besides the huge box office really isn't there considering the budget was $150m. It only made 1.5x it's budget and video sales aren't that high. It comes in 115 on domestic animated box office.

In your opinion.

But then you claim its popularity is based on Disney fans uncritically enjoying it. There's your ad hominem.

You can't bear that so many people like what you don't like that you have to box them in with the label of "Disney fan" who have the personal defect of liking subpar entertainment because of blind adherence to Disney.

That's ad hominem.

You could acknowledge that a lot of people like it, but you don't. That's fine. There are a lot of popular things I don't like. But it doesn't hurt my ego that I'm in the minority. You could have left it at that.

But no, you have to slur the people who like it as having some sore of defective taste.

We just got back from a DL weekend and I was surprised how much the removal of the tree improved the area, not only does it massively reduce congestion in the area but the views of Pirates from Adventureland are amazing.

One of those rare times when less is more.
Good to hear!
Honestly, Project Stardust absolutely upgraded Adventureland. Not only is it so much easier to walk though Adventureland since they moved the strollers out of the main pathway, but it's nice to have multiple places to grab a chair & enjoy the tropical land now.
Love getting a seat by the river at Tropical Hideaway and I'm glad they cleared Shrunken Ned's shop for more dining space.

It just weirds me out that so many people cannot stand that there are movies they are not the target audience for doing well. 🥲 Encanto is too abuser apologist for my tastes, but I appreciate that it exists, and if the tree house being turned over to a character in the film that was actually interesting, I have zero complaints about that!

I've always thought SEA is pretty stupid, but I suppose this as close as we'll get to an original idea at WDI so I'd be happy with it, if proven true. That said, I doubt it. A SEA themed treehouse AND a People Mover revival? I don't think Disney would do either of those, let alone both. MiceChat has a bad track record with rumors.

I don’t even think it’s a rumor. I think they re just regurgitating what they hear us talking about here and places like here.

Not a huge fan of S.E.A. but I think it’s probably the best chance of keeping the spirit of the original treehouse alive…other than you know the new Swiss Family show they are rebooting.
