But plans do change. That doesn't make it false. Star wars land was supposed to be a spinner some shops and a Jedi training show with a possible speed bike eticket and that was it for Orlando. Then the plan changedNo it wasn't. In my opinion that whole episode is one of the best examples of MiceAge publishing a wild rumor that turned out to be false and not owning up to it.
I'm predicting that the Marvel project will not happen as described by MiceAge, and they will either a) claim that "plans changed", or b) say nothing and distract readers with some other story.
True but there are some sane people still left ;DIf I'm going to to be honest, this forum isn't as fun as it used to be.
I don't why it's so hard to believe that Disney's first plan for Star Wars was to essentially overlay Tomorrowland and wipe out subs/autopia for a coaster.
You've lost me. What Mice Age reported there WAS the plan for the subs when Star Wars was to take over tomorrow land. Then it moved and they stayed. Where else do you think they were building it?
Who doesn't believe this?
No. MiceAge reported that the subs were closed because of MyMagic+ Actual quotes:
"That makes it an easy target for panicky TDA executives looking to cut costs, and the Star Wars announcement was supposed to give them the cover they needed to quietly close the 54 year old submarine attraction for a second time."
"TDA is going to go ahead with the closure falsely labeled a 'refurbishment' with the hopes that Burbank will reopen the purse strings later in 2014 and the Star Wars announcement can finally be made to save face."
True but there are some sane people still left ;D
I don't know about the other forums, as I spend 99.9% of my time here in the DL forum, but I can bet it's worse haha. There's a reason I keep to this forum lol.
I'm not talking about a forum. And calm the heck down. Are you now taking shots at me? Are you really that upset when someone makes a comment you don't agree with? Geez.Just because someone posted it on the forums didn't make them credible. A topic you should be familiar with...
What's so amazing about that? We've been posting for years together on another forum. Became good friends, our other forum became very slow, we were recommended to try this site from TP2000 who posted with us at the other forum, and here we are. We joined on my birthday last year. Nothing coincidental about it. If drama revolves around us, it's likely because some people can't stand it when someone disagrees with them as you're nicely proving as we speak. I've done nothing wrong since I've joinedjoined so quit acting so paranoid.I still get a kick out of the DL Forum tag team of the Dr and Constance both joined within a day of each other... yet 90% of the drama of this subforum revolves around them and has from the point they joined. Such a co-ink-a-****...
I know the very posts you are talking about... And the conversation originated on Micechat before other people relayed it.I'm not talking about a forum. And calm the heck down. Are you now taking shots at me? Are you really that upset when someone makes a comment you don't agree with? Geez.
Disney said PUSH the Trashcan was not leaving and that there was no substance to rumors of the character's imminent departure the day before announcing that PUSH the Trashcan was no longer in the parks, effective immediately. How are you lost? It was obviously not the plan for SW at that time, and here's why:
MiceAge gave specific details in an article that was speculative and/or based on bad information as evidenced by the fact that they continued to deny the Subs were returning even when there was evidence that they weren't being mothballed. When Disneyland closed the ride in January 2014 it stated that it would reopen later that year after a refurbishment. Several fans called shenanigans on MiceAge at the time including one MA poster, The Seadog, who wrote:
"WOW...did you miss the mark on Nemo!! sorry to tell you but everything you said about the Nemo project is incorrect...in fact a lot of the REHAB as already started in the caverns....projector updates and replacements....corrosion mitigation....track replacement.....close to 10 million dollars already earmarked and contracts going into place for cleaning, redecorating, track and track switch repair as well as substantial work on the subs engine rooms, and power systems. Nemo will be swimming again in September."
At the company meeting that March Iger addressed the issue and stated that the Subs were indeed returning as planned and that there were plans for Star Wars that would be forthcoming.
MiceAge reported misinformation, period. Just admit it.
That was a sad day when PUSH left. I wonder if he got a new job in the hospitality industry?Disney said PUSH the Trashcan was not leaving and that there was no substance to rumors of the character's imminent departure the day before announcing that PUSH the Trashcan was no longer in the parks, effective immediately.

There are many tangents to the subs discussion because it did involve different moving pieces... Including the ongoing operation of the park, future plans, ops, fiscal impacts, and more. The great thing about that incident is because you can cherry pick your perspective you can get the view you want when you close your eyes to the rest.
Miceage was not flawless, And they munge stuff together or all distorted all the time... As I've already said. But that is not the same as simply creating wild hair brained rumors which is insinuated here.
If you want another voice on the topic... Look here from 2013

It's not even worth trying to dig out the Micechat posts as they broke their search years ago and even under vb5 their system is toast.
What miceage is guilty of is not scrutinizing information to flush out its real probability and what obstacles lay ahead before a plan becomes unstoppable. But Norm and dusty weren't into that... The needed the sensational points and we're trying to mimick al's formula-maic writing style which intentionally tried to pull people in.
With gimmicks like casually inserting a new bit of info into a line of thought about something else to cause people to do a double take...
They tried to hide al's recession from the site for a long time by basically trying to impersonate him. And when the gig was up, they tried to copy him directly rather than create their own identity.
When their Intel dried up, so did their ability to truly vet things to see just where they were in the pipeline and understand things like which stakeholder could kill it or not. The really ruined themselves by reporting everything in a manner inferring "it's happening" instead of being something like "a concept being proposed and vetted"
So in short... Inaccurate? All the time... Made up? I don't think so in the far far far majority of the time. Their problem is credibility due to lack of attention to process.
I've seen indivdual pictures of both Hans and Constance back in the old Laughingplace days. No one wants to see what Hans was doing to Duffy in that picture though.Has anyone seen Hans & Constance in the same room together? I haven't. Fishy.
