Disneyland officially reopening April 30th

You don’t know any of that.

But we do know that now. @Darkbeer1 posted the official rules from Disney about 30 minutes ago.

There's absolutely no policing of it, and no real compliance on the online ticketing website. It's like a 19 year old guy going on the Jack Daniels website and checking the box that he is over 21 in order to proceed.

But go on with the fake outrage/annoyance.

I don't know that I have "outrage" over this, but I am annoyed by it. I am annoyed because it's yet another arbitrary rule not based in science from Sacramento that is needlessly damaging the tourism industry in California. That's annoying.

No, we don’t. None of the parks are open yet. Entry processes haven’t been tested.

This was the information @Darkbeer1 provided from Disney. I trust that information to be accurate.

Here is what Disney will do.

>>In-state visitors only. Information will be prominently placed on all communications, including the Reservation and Ticketing systems, to ensure guests are aware of Reservation and Ticketing Requirements. At the time a guest makes a park reservation and purchases park tickets, the park operators must obtain an attestation that when visiting the park, the guest’s party size will not contain more than 3 households and the guest, and all members of the guest’s party will be in state visitors.<<

To do anymore would upset many of the resort hotel owners, and with the DisneylandForward campaign, that is the last thing the DLR wants to do.

That’s not from Disney. That’s from the state, although I presume they’ll follow it like everyone else says they are. Universal literally mentions the attestation in today’s announcement as though that is a commonly-used term.

Oh, that's language from the state? Well, that's even less impressive then. Even the state doesn't request ID for this?

So even the state knows this is a fake charade that tourists will lie about when they buy their tickets.

Don't you just love "attestation"???

Sacramento bureaucrats and Governor Newsom have given us so many hilarious gifts in the past year. 🤣

They get up there at their little podium in their triple mask and blabber on with all this allegedly impressive vocabulary and gobbledeygook that is suppose to make them look smart. But they end up looking about as dumb and ignorant as those UC Berkeley students and faculty interviewed in that video I posted about Government Issued ID being racist.

I almost feel sorry for them for thinking they have to speak and communicate like that. But then it's entertaining enough to keep me laughing that I kind of hope they don't stop now. They're just so darn silly and funny to listen to!

You have to come across as intelligent to have as many girlfriends as Gavin has.

Here's some new material for @TP2000

View attachment 543805

Are we shocked that this is the situation after over a year of closure?

Wow! That's not really surprising, and yet it's a bit shocking to see it in print like that from the union.

So refusals to return to work have been averaging between 30% and 60%, likely depending on seniority and their previous roles.

And thus everyone on furlough is being recalled just to get a skeleton crew of CM's cobbled together by April 30th???

This is gonna be a mess! But like many of us thought, a huge percentage of the CM community has moved on with their life after a year of not working there. They got other jobs, perhaps jobs that pay better and/or don't require putting up with horrible parking procedures and crap food in the cafeterias. They moved to Idaho. They moved to San Diego. They joined the Air Force or Marine Corps. They went back to college in Arizona. Etc., etc.

The entry-level CM's got on with their lives and realized Disneyland isn't as stable as it was thought to be.

This is going to be a real mess to sort out and recover from!

Can they track the IP address where you purchased the tickets?

People would just use a VPN to get around that.

I assume they would require an address with postal code. Which could also be faked, but you have to wonder what % of guests would really go to the trouble of getting around the state resident only rule, or if it's worth it to Disney to enforce it. A paying customer is still a paying customer.

Let's not forget, when Sacramento finally released the Guidance four days ago they completely dropped the previous requirement from last October for "online ticket sales only" in all tiers.

Now theme parks can offer walk-up ticket sales at the ticket booths. That was a change with the March 26th Guidance.

Orange – Moderate – Tier 3
• Walk up ticket sales allowed. Park operators must collect complete name and contact information (including a phone number) of the ticket purchaser for necessary contact tracing.

So a theme park just has to get a fake phone number from a customer at the ticket booth and then let them in.

There's no longer a requirement for theme parks to only sell their tickets online, like they said would be the rule last October.

Those who who are so hurt and irritated by the fact that their Oregonian friends can’t visit Mickey quite yet would probably make an attempt.
