Disneyland officially reopening April 30th

And that's why DL chose April 30 to open. Most permissive tier. CMs all get their first jabs (or only one with J&J).

CM's are already able to get vaccinated in California The CM's running Downtown Disney, or Taste of Disney, etc. all qualify for vaccines under Phase 1B which has been in effect for months.

CM's are front line workers in the restaurant/retail industry or the recreation industry. That Phase 1B job qualification has allowed CM's in California to be vaccinated since February.

CM's had to wait a bit though for people who work in sketchy pot shops in dirty strip malls. They were in Phase 1A, ahead of 1B.

Welcome to California!

While Orange County is obviously gonna move forward with loosening restrictions to Orange Tier levels this week, LA will put Orange Tier changes into effect next Monday to make sure their numbers hold.

Orange County businesses are already living in the Yellow Tier for the most part. They've opened up already, and they aren't waiting for Sacramento to tell them about it after the fact.

Except for mask wearing and Disneyland being closed, life has already returned to normal in OC. They even pulled up the Social Distancing markers off the floor at my Ralph's and Target.

Los Angeles County is a different breed of county, with a much different mindset. I imagine that people up there are still "sheltering in place" and wearing triple masks when they greet their Uber Eats driver.

Cutting kind of close since the park open at the end of next month and people need to start booking their trips in advance.

Eh, I think with the capacity restrictions it's going to be nearly impossible to get a reservation for the first month or so. Especially on weekends since this is way before summer vacation season.

There is pent-up demand that will take a few months to work through. But that pent-up demand is not limitless and I think within a couple months it will be much easier to get "reservations" a day or two in advance.

Although, the revised Guidance does now allow "walk-up ticket sales" at the park itself. No Internet reservation required.

Will I have to submit to urinalysis to prove I’ve only had California water. Perhaps a hair follicle would be more conclusive.

We never got 2021 DLR prices. And they introduced 5 tiers like a few weeks before closing. I’d expect some “day recategorization” similar to what we saw at WDW.
Yes, of course. I’m just saying, on average, prices will seem pretty similar. I’m sure they will go up a few percent because they normally would after a year.

Isn't it great? I didn't think Sacramento could come up with another way to make the general population ignore them and willfully disobey their mandates, but they did.

To get into a California theme park, you will have to sign "an attestation" that you are a Californian, and then provide Disneyland with a fake phone number to pretend as though a Contact Tracing department that doesn't really exist will call you.

That's all. No ID check, cause that's racist. No proof of citizenship. You don't even have to know the second stanza of verses to California, Here I Come. (It goes Where bowers, of flowers, bloom in the spring. Each morning, at dawning, birdies sing and everything.)

Sacramento is just encouraging people to lie for a toothless regulation that everyone will ignore.

Take it from me, a dirty Oregonian, CA water is N A S T Y.

You know, when I go up to my sister's place south of Portland and drink the tap water I get a shock and think "Who added sugar to the tap water?!?" It's so soft and sweet you could almost use it as a simple syrup in a cocktail.

It really is Orange County's shame. Things are truly lovely here for the most part, but the tap water in OC is really awful. Like perhaps the worst tasting water in the nation, if not all industrialized countries.

Actually I fully expect that Disney will require a valid California ID for admission in compliance with the state guidelines. They required it for the SoCal tickets, so don't see any reason why they wouldn't require it here too.

"....proof of residency is required for purchase and admission, including valid government-issued photo ID, is required for purchase and admission."

When I bought our house in 2014, we had a total house rewire, then wall repair and painting, lots of Floor work, and a water softener system (the previous owner rented theirs, so the main unit was removed, and a "drinking water" reverse osmosis tap in the kitchen. Even have a "car wash" tap on the side of the house.

I know, it's a pain. I had a water softener system for the kitchen only until 2010 and then finally just installed one for the whole house.

The change in showers was noticeable. You don't need nearly as much shampoo! 🤣

I'm jealous of your car wash tap! My exterior hoses come right off the mainline just before it goes into the house at the garage (where the softener is).

Hey, they are even lifting the outdoor TV ban on bars (special LA County rule, not required by the state). Though it will still have some special rules for TV use.

But it looks like USC won't be playing in the NCAA Championship game on Monday.

Or worry about cleaning the showers/tubs as much. Almost any Hotel/Motel here has a soft water system, to save on labor.

Not sure why you say that, with AB60 anyone can obtain a license in CA regardless of status, provided you pass the DMV tests of course.
There are CA residents who don’t have CA IDs. Like college students.

They are going to ask as many people as possible to buy tickets online in advance. Push touch less payment. And then...check everyone’s IDs? That goes against the touch less focus.

Will they ask you to pull your mask down to verify identity and have you breathe on them?

Doesn‘t pass the smell test.

Here is what Disney will do.

>>In-state visitors only. Information will be prominently placed on all communications, including the Reservation and Ticketing systems, to ensure guests are aware of Reservation and Ticketing Requirements. At the time a guest makes a park reservation and purchases park tickets, the park operators must obtain an attestation that when visiting the park, the guest’s party size will not contain more than 3 households and the guest, and all members of the guest’s party will be in state visitors.<<

To do anymore would upset many of the resort hotel owners, and with the DisneylandForward campaign, that is the last thing the DLR wants to do.
