"Los Angeles and Orange counties have passed a new marker on what they hope is a return to normalcy from the coronavirus, clearing the way for them to further relax restrictions on businesses and activities.

Effective Wednesday, both counties will officially move into California’s orange tier — the third step in the state’s reopening process, state health officials announced Tuesday."

Let's hope everyone continues to do what's necessary to keep the counties in those respective tiers. Disneyland can now open at 25% capacity amongst other changes outlined within this thread.

In addition today California will hit 3.5M vaccinations in lower income areas. Once that 4M threshold is hit then a large number of counties will hit or be on the verge of reaching Yellow Tier including OC. Based on current projections that 4M should be hit around April 15th.

The same day that Vaccines become available to all adults in CA over 16 😳

So Disneyland could potentially move into the Yellow Tier in early May? June?

And that's why DL chose April 30 to open. Most permissive tier. CMs all get their first jabs (or only one with J&J).

It don't know if that was specifically the reason, but it doesn't mean it wasn't one of the many reasons why that date was chosen.

Also more info, OC already meets one of the three criteria for Yellow tier without the 4M lower income accelerator.
