Well, that settles it. I'm announcing it here. I'm retiring from contributing anything positive to society. Screw this Essential Frontline job. I'm now a Professional Blogger. Donate at yourenotbeingscammed.org

Now, please excuse me while I make reservations for the next 4 months to record my Quality Content.
I can all but guarantee that in the next 1-2 years Disney is going to have to implement rules or bans on vlogging as it becomes more and more common.

Not sure if vlog work is really different than trying to work in the entertainment industry as a whole. I think the one thing that YouTube and places like OnlyFans have done is democratized entertainment in a way that it is available for a lot of people to take their shot at producing content. Good or bad YouTube will pay for views and advertisers are willing to pay for sponsored content. Not to mention Patreon or other sources of income. Not necessarily everybody's personal vibe or bent when it comes to careers but can't blame them for wanting to make it go living out their own personal dreams. Definitely remember a lot of crap shows on TV growing up that I couldn't believe were even made, but with three channels what choice did I have but to watch😉

Most online entertainment is people broadcasting from home and no ones vacation is ruined from it.

When people are putting on live shows and talking to their internet audience and holding out a camera while you're on Pirates of the Caribbean, people are bound to have a diminished experience.

I have to admit, I watch a Disney vlogger video probably 3-4 times a day now. I guess this is due to the pandemic because I only watched one every so often prior, like once a week. But the last year, I been watching quite a few and now follow probably a half dozen of them because you miss the parks or just having people talking about the parks.

So I understand why they are popular, especially now. And yes, Youtube has just become a source of entertainment as a TV channel or streaming site has. I watch certain shows on it daily (non-Disney included). But I understand they are not everyone's cup of tea and yes I do understand if people feel they might ruin the experience for them if they are at the park. But I use to go the park monthly pre-pandemic, I have never run into one at all, so I don't think it's really an issue, at least no more than being around someone talking on their phone (which I rarely see these days).

So has anyone noticed that the bloggers/vloggers are still going to Disneyland multiple times? I've seen a couple pop up in my youtube feed that have probably been 5+ times each...I wonder how long this will last? Maybe as long as multiple people still keep donating cash to during their livestreams? Who needs an AP when you've got loyal watchers to fund your business.

Yeah it hasn't been any difference lol. At least the ones I follow. I watch FB the most and shocked how many times they are still going even with lack of APs, limited capacity, reservation system, etc. But I also think some get invites from other fans, CMs, etc. Dave from FB mentioned a CM got him in the cast preview week. And another group I follow got into AC last week (but couldn't shoot anything obviously) through a CM. They have a big enough fanbase probably both in and out of the parks and a lot of CM that probably watch their shows and this is a way to help them.

And while I'm sure donations definitely help, they probably make enough to go just by the ads revenue alone.. Some probably make several thousand a month just off of ads. So I never bought this idea a lack of APs would keep them from going often, but I DID think the lower capacity issue would be the bigger problem but I guess not. And especially when Disney keep dumping more tickets into the system I guess.

Vloggers are not going away and Disney is not going to crack down on them. The vloggers give Disney tons of social media presence for free. Disney also courts the vloggers with special access, press previews and the like, which Disney certainly would not do if the vloggers were bad for Disney.

I suspect most people's angst about vloggers is jealousy that they've created a business that earns them some money while attending the parks multiple times a month. 🤷‍♂️

My intention wasn't to slag vloggers though I can't say I'm really a fan of many of them that come of completely over the top and fake (just like most personalities on social media). I was merely pointing out that there was some discussion around whether vloggers could survive without AP...well, seems like they'll be just fine.

What would Disney crack down on? If they're buying tickets at full price, Disney is likely pleased as punch.

Given that APs are no more (for now), I’m realizing that the huge advantage to being at the parks at rope drop is probably all but gone at this point, isn’t it? Who’s gonna pay that much for a ticket and show up at noon?

I think there will always be an advantage being there at rope drop. It’s just instead of maybe having 2-3 blissful hours you get one good hour instead. We got to the Harbor entrance around 7:45am and they let us into the parks around 8:30 and they open the rides before 9am too. I got off of Pirates at 9:05 and then walked onto Mansion and Splash all in the first hour. Could have done more if we wanted to. You definitely could as your kids are grown.

Not to mention you’ll probably already be up early trying to get a boarding pass for something so you may as well head to the parks.

Well even when I do pay for a full day ticket I'm rarely ever there before 10 a.m. lol.

But yes I think given ALL the circumstances, even with APs people are going to show up as early as possible because it sounds like everything takes a little longer to do now (including just getting to the park since they don't even have the trams running).

And until the parks start closing much later, you just have a lot less time than before and pushes people to get there earlier.

And since the ROTR boarding group became a thing, the parks were already much packed at opening because so many were trying to get on it. Even my family was there a full hour before opening to ride the thing. It may subside with the 12 p.m. option at least.
