Disneyland Offers Sneak Peak at WDW's Fairytale Hall?

Before Princess Fantasy Faire invaded the Fantasyland Theater, all princesses had individual greets at DL. Belle, Cinderella, Aurora and Snow White all met in various areas in front of the Castle. Ariel had her shell (now Pixie Hollow). Jasmine was in Adventureland with her man, and Mulan roamed Fantasyland and Hollywood at DCA freely. It would not surprise me if Mulan returned to either location, as she is rarely a big enough deal to create huge lines.

The new Fantasy Faire does not have room for outdoor character greets - the square area is simply not that large. If Mulan does Fantasyland sets, it will be behind the Castle.

Thank you.

PFF is a European, Renaissance-themed faire/village. Where do you think a Chinese, a Cajun and a Native American princess fit that theme? Just curious.

That stage show looks cute. They even have a DL version of the Lumiere animatronic from Enchanted Tales. Very nice.
I'm sorry, but I'm about to be nit-picky about these two items.

Tiana is not a Cajun. Cajuns were originally French colonist from the colony of Acadia in Canada, that were exiled during the French and Indian War by the British, and later settled in Louisiana. They have there own specific style of music, food, and language that influences much of southern Louisiana. However, Tiana does not exhibit any of the traits of this community. On the flip side, Ray the firefly is portrayed as Cajun, missing teeth and all. End cultural history lesson..:)

I watched a video of the show from Fantasy Faire and I'm afraid that the Lumiere is nothing like the one from Enchanted Tales with Belle. From the style of its movements, you can tell that the one at Disneyland is a puppet, while the one at Walt Disney World is an animatronic. I know there's been some debate about whether the one at WDW is a puppet or not and I can say with 100% certainty (i.e. friends who work the attraction), that WDW's is completely performed by computers.

Thanks for the lesson.

From what I see this Meet & Greet doesn't look that bad... can't wait to see how the WDW one turns out.

It did turn out nice. Pictures can't really do it justice; it's sort of a little village feel with some great views of the Castle behind it. That giant construction crane looming overhead as it rebuilds Big Thunder Mountain doesn't help the opening season aesthetics, but what can you do?

While this is obviously a very open, indoor-outdoor type of environment that the far more forgiving Southern California climate can handle, I think there's a lot of potential offerings here that could show up in the entirely indoor climate-controlled environment of WDW's Fairytale Hall. And thus this thread!

Things like the animatronic Figaro and bird, the little Clopin music box interactive, and the LED light Rapunzel tower show could be expanded upon and greatly enhanced in the indoor version at Fairytale Hall. Not sure how the various theater shows in the Royal Theatre might translate to WDW's version, but the new gift shop and Maurice's Treat snack bar could also make the trek to WDW in an expanded and larger format. As with most things at Disneyland, Fantasy Faire is intimate and that utterly typical Disneyland quality... charming. The WDW version might expand on that foundation, and while the charm factor is often lost in translation to a larger WDW environment, sometimes the WDW version is more impressive overall.

This YouTube video sums up the new Disneyland experience nicely, and I would bet more than hints at what is coming to WDW later this year at Fairytale Hall....

And for my buddy @WDW1974, don't think I didn't notice the snappier and trendier Disneyland dress code these Anaheim suits are wearing on this media day. Can you imagine a real bow tie and jaunty striped blazer from an Orlando manager? I can't.

Actually, I will say I was wrong. I recently watched a better video of the theater show, and yeah, it's a puppet. It's cool looking, but it's clearly a rod operated puppet.

Animatronics are used when the show needs to repeat every few minutes, like on a ride or continually operating attraction. Puppets are used when the show only repeats a dozen or less times per day, like in this little stage show. It would be a huge waste of money to install an animatronic in a stage show that only performs 7 or 8 times per day and will need to be changed up every few years.

I will pay to see managers in snazzy little outfits like that! Haha

They did an amazing job on this in DL. I hope they do the same kind of thing at WDW, and I hope we get something neat like they did with Figaro. That being said, Florida has weird weather, I don't know how an outside AA would work with weather.....

Completely exposed like it is in Disneyland, it probably wouldn't work long in the Orlando climate.

But WDW's Fairytale Hall is entirely indoors, so they could be doing even more of these little animatronic vignettes throughout, and more or bigger versions of the "little playthings" in Disneyland's new Fantasy Faire like this hand-cranked "Clopin's Music Box".

We could be seeing just the tip of the iceberg at Disneyland's version, with more plentiful and larger scale concepts in the all-indoor climate-controlled Fairytale Hall at WDW.

If they do it, it will be amazing. Especially indoors where weather can't be a factor. Just wondering what we would get if we got an AA.....ideas?

Anything hunch back of notre dame here would be welcomed seriously I will take the music box at this point.
