Nooo! We are going the week before Labor day. We just missed out on it coming back at WDW last year as well.

We are doing Paris and Tokyo next year, and not the domestic parks. Hopefully 2025 will finally be my Fantasmic year..

The fact that they built a Fantasmic storage area when they redid the area for GE points to them wanting to keep the show long term, and there's nothing that would have changed enough since then that would make them reconsider their stance.
That was seven years ago. Paradise Pier was remodeled in 2010 and about eight years after it became Pixar Pier. Likewise, Tower of Terror was a major part of DCA 2.0 in 2012, but by 2017 it was Mission Breakout. Point being, things are built to last until Disney undoes everything they’ve done a few years ago.

Another question would be........Was DL close to opening F! B Mode and something just happened??? Why wait a week before Memorial Weekend to cann F! all summer if DL knew all along?????

We were already guessing a summer Night Parade the Morning after!

Plus, I would think Ending F! in favor of SWGE would be a PR Mess!!!!!

I'll grant that it wasn't built yesterday, but there's no evidence that Fantasmic is any less popular now than it was post-2.0 reopening, nor that Disney is tiring of the show or has issues with the expense of running it.

Disney has no qualms about dropping something if they don’t want to do it anymore. They don’t need an excuse. They’d just do it.

These people seem to work at DL (posting history indicates so), so maybe there's some merit to what they're saying? Or they could be overreacting, who knows..

So.......If CMs were in Total Danger every night.....Why didn't they all quit long ago???????????

Why did CMs even let F! come Back after COVID?????????

Do DHS CMs feel this way???

If it's just one CM posting about safety issues, I don't know that I would necessarily take it as anything more than an individual grievance.

If many CMs post about safety issues/concerns, THEN I might start to take it more seriously.

In regards to the latter, it's possible they just didn't see the part about Disney reshuffling the F! cast into other roles, OR Disney isn't actually doing that, OR Disney did offer her a role she wasn't interested in. I imagine they're only just starting to contact the performers and try to work something out.

In my book, it's too soon to jump to any meaningful conclusions, until we either learn more or start to see patterns.

Thanks! Could the F! Cast move to MSEP/PTN? Or doesn't that work?

No plans to bring back any type of night parade for this summer, at least at the moment. Anything they plan would need at least two months to get up and running, if not longer.

Given that, I don't think they'd make the decision willy nilly to just keep the show dark for cost savings during peak season.

My speculation- they are facing opex cost savings mandates coming from above… and entertainment is sacrificing f! In limp mode so they can spare cutting elsewhere.

Throw the cripple to the lions so the rest can survive

I also don’t buy the cost saving theory. Disney budgeted and planned for Fantasmic to be available. They sold dining packages. Fantasmic makes them money.

When your operating budget is limited… making money or not doesn’t change how much the budget is…. It just influences what you pick to spend your limited dollars on.

Imagine also emtertainment probably doesn’t get the pnl credit for dining packages.

They could also be trying to take the cost savings they are getting and trying to reallocate that money to f! Changes that were not previously planned

Well, another safety issue/concern from an ex-F! CM..

"Alternate Entertainment Offerings."

So.....Night Parade?

No, it's too late for that. It's almost Memorial Day.

I think they'll do a jazz combo on the Mark Twain at night, maybe with some dancing and mint juleps for sale. Which could actually be nice. But anything more than just added bands and upcharged cocktails, there's not time for getting MSEP or Paint The Night going before July.

So instead of running the show during the peak demand period in the mean time? I don't buy it.

They wouldn't cancel the show for b-mode in the past... now they are going to cancel it ALL SUMMER because of it? Doesn't pass the sniff test.

I thought the same thing. This doesn't pass the smell test. Unless the fire really did damage key infrastructure below the stage that is needed for other acts and elements in the show. But why not just say that? "The fire damaged key infrastructure that will take several months to rebuild."

At my most optimistic, here on a late Saturday night after a fun dinner and a nightcap, I would think that TDA realizes the latest version of Fantasmic! wasn't their very best effort, and they have room for improvement. So they are taking this unfortunate situation and looking for the silver lining in order to re-envision the show and create something better. 😍

Or... in my most pessimistic tomorrow morning before I have my first cup of coffee, they're just cheap jerks who want to kill that old Jack Lindquist water show thing on the lake that costs them so much money.
