Replace Star Tours with Body Wars 2.0 and a new random branching movie staring Elisabeth Shue.
The current plan is for Star Tours to close when SWL opens. It's a safe assumption right now to expect a retooled Iron Man Experience to replace it, although I hope those plans are reconsidered and Marvel is kept to just DCA. Still a bit of a way off, and there's usually some kind of exclusivity agreement on all new HKDL attractions.
I guess I missed the fact that there is a Cantina AND a sit down restaurant.Haha ya I'm excited not really for the Star Wars content but for the simple fact that something new is finally coming to DL in the form of a beautiful, immersive land. I'm cautiously optimistic that at least one of the two attractions will be groundbreaking. Of course there are probably 10 other IPs I would have liked to see get love before Star Wars but still excited nevertheless. The restaurant is the one thing that was a surprise to me. I mean if I sat down and thought about it I guess it would have been obvious that a 14 acre Star Wars land would have at least one table service. But with all the talk of the rides and ROA demolition I didn't give it much thought. The concept art looks pretty cool.
On another note as popular as Star Tours is its still hard to believe that It is not moving to SWL, staying in TL and most likely going to Yesterland in the next 5-10 years. It's also puzzling because everything I read says Hollywood Studios and Disneylands version of SWL will be pretty much identical and Hollywood Studios will be building around Star Tours.
My guess is that after experiencing two ultra modern, high tech Star Wars rides guests may not lament the loss so much.
Soooooo, the current plan is for Disneyland's Star Wars to close and NOT be moved over to Star Wars Land? Wasn't it just updated, I think, five years ago?The current plan is for Star Tours to close when SWL opens. Not to mention the update will be 8 years old by the time that Star Wars land opens. There is no place to put Star Tours in SWL, and it will be redundant in the face of the two cutting edge new attractions across the park. An update doesn't guarantee a long life span.
As long as Shue is in something tight and form fitting it's all good. You mean Adventure thru Inner Space 2.0 (although let's face it, that's pretty much what Body Wars 1.0 was!)
There was no Tony Baxter in it!
But will the Cantina serve alcohol...million dollar question. They eventually let it into the MK, could see them breaking ranks and doing the same out here.I guess I missed the fact that there is a Cantina AND a sit down restaurant.
It would be great if they would update ST with something really great, not tied to an existing IP...but who are we kidding. I think retooling it to Iron Man is a mistake since as you say, that should stay in DCA. How about moving the simulators to DCA with Iron man theme and gutting the ST building for an all new attraction. I know, Monster's Inc Laugh Floor! Yay!!There is no place to put Star Tours in SWL, and it will be redundant in the face of the two cutting edge new attractions across the park. An update doesn't guarantee a long life span.

Then why is Disney's Hollywood Studios just building their Star Wars Land AROUND Star Tours? There is no place to put Star Tours in SWL, and it will be redundant in the face of the two cutting edge new attractions across the park. An update doesn't guarantee a long life span.
And the one guy in the whole thing who has been involved with the parks never spoke about them. Thus why i did not bother watching it !
What's a 'Disneyland tv special ' without Tony and his stories...??
