My brothers office building smells exactly like Splash Mountain...so cool. The aquarium by my house smells likes Splash Mountain, also. Heaven!!!!

I'll likely never forget the smell when checking into the Polynesian, we only stayed two nights then transferred to the BC for 10 but it was a magical 2 nights! We received handmade lei's as opposed to the party store ones and just everything was special, the room upgrade to the Tahiti building didn't hurt either. Disney cemented themselves in my wallet after that trip just a year ago, despite 5 visits in 3 years that one really made me a lifer.

It's been nine months since I was at WDW and I knew I missed it more than usual, but now I have a new low. The new table sanitizer in my classroom smells exactly like the water rides (Splash, POTC, Maelstrom) do. I don't know what it is (probably very bad to smell) but it's exactly the smell. It brought back such good memories that I brought the empty bottle home to let my wife smell it and she agrees it's the smell. Now I'm having trouble throwing out the empty bottle. I need help I guess.

Love this post! It's posts like this that make me believe I'm not as Disney-crazy as people say I am! Welcome to the crazy-club @jayhawkmickey !!

High volume french fry production reminds me of Casey's Corner during MVMCP. The fries just have to be slightly singed. Walking down Main Street I start getting pulled towards that smell and the lines snaking out the door....no matter how desperately my wife NEEDS to shop.

I dont know, it comes from maintence pre mixed in generic spray bottles. Smells kind of like pool water but with just the hint of that WDW something else??? I'll try to find out.
Ok, so I think I have the smell narrowed down. Dilute ecolab multi quat sanitizer, tap water that in Fla. would have that tasty sulfur stink, and not to be left out the #2 HDPE ( high density polyethylene ) of the bottle all combined with time and wamo, POTC smell! I don't know what the boats are made of but I'd bet it's a high density plastic sitting in sanitized water. I decided to keep my bottle for days I want to be magically transported back to my beloved adventure land.

The smell of the monorail is what comes to mind immediately. I can't really even describe it, but it's a weird, metallic-like smell.

Nobody has mentioned Ellen's Energy Adventure. And Disney could make a FORTUNE if they could perfect these smells as air spray! Who wouldn't buy POTC Ridewater for the home, or Burning Rome scent?? Poly Lobby would be my first choice!

I've often found the transportation buses have a distinctive aroma about them. Also, the first thing I think of when I think of Horizons is oranges!

Finally, the other day, I caught the scent of something which smelled a lot like the burning scene in Spaceship Earth, and it instantly transported me back.

Yesterday while driving in my car it smelled like the Disney buses when you first get on them in the morning...free from body odor and everything else. That instantly sent me back.

Oranges in the desert scene of Horizons. The smell of BTMRR as you descend the ramps and when you come back into the station. The dusty smell of HM. The POTC smell, cant put my finger on it, old fort maybe. Then there is all the smells of Mains Street.
