Ironic that the room rates of Grand Floridian and Four Seasons are sometimes during the year in line with each other but the guest service and opulent surroundings of FS supersedes GF.
No irony. They're different beasts targeting different audiences.

These aren’t entry level of course. I’m pointing out examples if you are not happy with what you making , start applying for roles that earn you more money.
Yeah, so every single front line cast member is going to apply to do something else within the company? How does this solve the problem at hand?

I don’t mean this in a rude way but so many of the posters on here are looking at this situation with one eye closed and backwards thinking

Getting promoted at Disney is extremely difficult due to office politics and Disney's obstinate transfer guidelines, which can make otherwise good CM's ineligible.

If you want a professional role at Disney, do some time there when younger, then go to school, and either start working elsewhere or start bugging recruiters at graduation to get an offer. Otherwise, odds aren't that good.

I’m aware, although, I’d argue the pandemic has loosened up a lot of these previous difficulties. WDW has promoted more people into Leaders in the past 2 years than ever before due to so many people leaving the company. That wasn’t my point though, not everyone can be a manager or an engineer or whatever higher paying role we pick out of a hat.
Someone has to operate the register at the Emporium, run the attractions, fry the chicken, etc., those people need to be paid more.

Yes, and I've seen the contracts between Disney and Four Seasons, first-hand.*

There is a "no Magic™" clause which prevents The Four Seasons from directly competing with any Disney offering.

*which I've learned from this thread, means it's anticdotal

Glad to see Disney improved on internal promotions, and agree on everything else. I'm one of the ones arguing for CM's to get an increase, not against ;)

Grand Floridian is where well-off Disney geeks go.

The Four Seasons is where well-off parents who could care less about Disney go when their kids beg them to go.

Sorry I didn’t mean to sound like I was arguing with you
No need to apologize. I'm one of the professionals Disney's tried to recruit... until they see my rehire status (or find out what I currently earn in another industry) 😂

FWIW, Sen. Sanders has now tweeted in support of Disney workers.

Does Senator Sanders not have a calculator? Or do Socialists just not believe in racist math any longer?

There are 50,000 hourly CM's working right now at WDW. If you divided up the $20 Million contract payout to Bob Chapek by the 50,000 WDW CM's working for an hourly wage, it would come to $400 per CM, or about $8 per week.

If you add in the 25,000 hourly CM's working right now at Disneyland (and they suffered more because Bob Chapek was just up the freeway and would visit their property more often), that payout per CM would be $266 per year, or about $5 per week for every CM.

I mean, Bob Chapek was a horrible CEO and is clearly a charmless idiot that was in way over his head, but I still wouldn't take an extra $5 a week to put up with him.

What is the minimum average wage at Disney? From what I can Google, the average is 17/hr. So sen Sanders is saying 1 buck an hour is the talking point??

What does a calculator have to do with anything? His point is that Chapek was fired and got $20 million as a constellation prize. If they can afford to do that, they can afford to pay their CMs more. Which is a fact, they can afford to.

$20,000,000 divided by 75,000 is $266 per CM.

Or about the same amount of money entry-level CM's at an unskilled $17 an hour pay rate would make in two 8 hour shifts.

CM jobs aren’t unskilled and I’m so sick of people saying that. I’d like to see half of the people on these forums try to be a CM. And I’m not saying they should split that 20 million, just that they have the resources to pay more

In Florida at WDW it's currently $15 an hour. In California at Disneyland it's currently $17 an hour.

California has a state income tax on hourly wages and a 7.25% sales tax, but Florida has no state income tax and a 6.0% sales tax.

The average price for a gallon of gas is currently $4.74 for regular in California, and $3.31 for regular in Florida.
