I was hoping the route would go along the Boardwalk as that's where we're staying. I told my partner all he has to do is wake up when I'm getting close, wave at me from the balcony of our room, and then go back to bed. Oh well...guess he gets to sleep in.

I hate that part of the race. Always worried about slipping on the damp wood.

Did we decide yet where to meet up Sunday evening after the Half? Our party ticket allows us to get in at 8PM. I'll probably still be eating tacos & drinking tequila at that time.

Sure - rub it in ;). I love Mexican food and was so happy to see a taco place open up down the street from my apartment ... only to go in to try it one day and it was not tacos at all. It seems that “tacos” is being used for any wrapped sandwich over here, which more often than not is Lebanese or Turkish. Just means I have to keep making my own!

Or you could just get on a bloody plane and join us. I'm experienced handling 13 year old girls.

I believe so. All the rD specific merchandise will be at the Arena, where you pick up your preordered items.

I just want the sneaker, but the pre order package is over 60 dollars and include a figurine (I already have one and I dont need 300 of those. Just the sneakers as x-mas tree decoration).

Well, if you can't find it at the Expo, I might give you mine. I don't put them on my tree and I'm running out of room to display the sneakers. I still haven't unboxed any of the figurines.

Spare bedroom (not the one designated as guest bedroom) is getting cleaned out and I'm turning it into my "game" room. "Game" meaning all my rD stuff, including medal displays. And workout room.

I couldn’t even if I wanted to; I only travel once in a blue moon for work ... and it’s a blue moon then ;)

Excuses, excuses, excuses. You're too late for W&D, but there are other races.... Fact is, you'll come back here before I get there, in spite of that arm twisting you & @RunningKoen are so good at. 😉

I wish. It seems like almost all the races are held the week after or the week before our school holidays. And last year because of when Christmas fell the school holiday went thru Marathon weekend so I begged for my daughter to be able to come back a couple of days late. The junior high school principal is not quite as willing as her elementary school principal was to give days off. I was lucky that I bundled my request with the two days I needed for DLP because if I had asked and been granted that first I wouldn’t have been granted the 2.5 days in January

If you would do that, that would be amazing! Gonna pay you for half of the bundle offcourse!

I am growing more fond of my 2017 marathon weekend sneaker every time, and using them for my tree would be fitting for me :)

@Swissmiss I know the struggle. My direct bosses are the best and making a amazing year filled with runDisney possible (I suspect them feeling guilty for almost getting me a burn out @ 25 year.)

Looking at the Expo for a 1st timer -

how long should I plan to spend at the Expo looking/shopping?

Should I go to the Expo right away on Thursday morning or wait 'til a little later in day (after lunch)? I'm doing the 5k too so I'll need my packet Thursday

Can I get to WWoS directly from MK (that's where my fastpasses are that morning)?

EEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKK!!! I'M GETTING SO EXCITED!!!!

Time at Expo really depends on you. Maybe I'm just missing the info in the new layout, but usually there was a list of expo vendors. But it seemed like about 25% of the space was TrackShack setting up booths for the different brands they sell along with things you may have forgot, IE gels, bars, socks, etc. 25% was the race sponsors booths, 25% sparkly skirts, headbands, shirts etc aimed at women (nothing against this, just my observations) and 25% other products/events. 75-80% of that stuff has no interest to me, so I can go through the Expo in maybe 10-15 minutes. But I know people who spend a few hours browsing.

Getting to the Expo early is key mostly if you want to buy merchandise. Lines will form before the expo opens, and it may take an hour or more for them to get inside, at which time large chunks of merchandise are often gone. Things like the wine glasses, and tumblers seem to go really quick particularlly for this event.

You can get to the Expo from any host resort, which is typically all resorts now. Just look for the big signs and charter buses. The Contemporary usually leaves from the convention center area, you can often see people waiting if you take a park bus to/from MK.

Can the sneaker ornament be bought at the expo? Or is it an 'pre orde only'/exclusive kind of thing?

Typically available at Expo, I seem to recall them usually lasting a while too.

Bumping this. I'm planning on getting to EPCOT via the international gateway right before 8pm from DHS (I have a tower fastpass at 7:25pm :) ) I think we should meet up somewhere in WS?
