Disney Universal or both

This is not a thread about which park is better. This is an economic issue and question. For those who want to go to universal alone there is no question staying on Disney property is a waste of money. They should stay At Cabana Bay and save money. This is more a question aimed towards seeing if next gen will work. We all know your answer. Mine is I don't know for sure but believe it will and I would like to know what others think, not those of us who post all the time.
For me, Universal is the enemy and their content sucks. I don't even consider going there. Yes, I'm a Disney apologist, so please don't try to give me a long story about how Universal is great.

With a lot of the posts here, you'd think this is a Universal forum.
Oh, the irony....

That isn't irony. Maybe a bad response, but definitely not irony.

Most misused word in English today.

Still, I felt it was a good time for my to voice an opinion about Universal in general. It's not even a factor for me because their content sucks, so Disney always wins out. I went to Universal a few times and wasn't impressed because I can't relate to their stuff. Nothing against them.

Meh, not really. Just trying not to sound like a jerk. I just don't like Universal. Thought I'd be safe here.

Define "safe"? Did you think since this was a Disney message board that no one else would like Uni either, and that no one would question your opinion? It is perfectly alright to like both, and it's ok to not like one or the other, but if you really think Uni sucks, don't sugar coat your opinion by saying "no offense".

When did I say that?
I was pretty direct about my opinion and didn't sugar coat it much.

So serious question, what exactly is it about their content that you don't like?
I'm just going to like your post and move on after this, because neither of us really care that much.

I've always thought Harry Potter is stupid and nerdy. Does absolutely nothing for me. Just really, really stupid concept. Not fun, not funny, not interesting, just dumb. I've seen them all at one point or another.

Other movies I just never liked -

Transformers, stupid. No plot.....constant reach on a "story." Terrible actors. Honestly, ruined transformers from my childhood.

Despicable Me - Somehow felt like an imitation of a Disney movie. Marginally funny.

Shrek - Awful. Always hated that green thing.

King Kong - Absolutely can't stand it.

Jaws/Jurassic Park are good.

I just love the classic Disney characters. Mickey, Donald, Pluto, Goofy, and Minnie. Can do no wrong for me...

Universal has no nostalgia factor for me and not as family oriented. Their animated movies always seem to try too hard and I don't identify with their characters.

But I actually agree with @Chef Mickey somewhat. I am a bit of a biased Disney fan, but when I go to Uni I still try to keep an open mind. However, I just don't like the "content". Like Shrek, Despicable Me, Simpsons, Dr. Suess... I just don't like that and find it un-enjoyable, and a few too many of the rides make me sick. Thats not to say there isn't other fun stuff, I just grew up as Disney person and didn't start visiting them until a few years ago, so I never found an interest in the topics. I will probably go back to IA though. The majority of that was fun.

Ok, this clarifies things, you just personally don't like the IP's the attractions are based on.

These are actually my feelings pretty much exactly

And can we all agree they completely ruined Spiderman? I'm an 80s kid like a lot of people here and it's just terrible. Toby McGuire? Come on. They just made it ultra lame and it makes me not want to ride the attraction.

Disney never make classics like Snow White, Peter Pan, Cinderella, Winnie the Pooh, Sleeping Beauty, Lion King, Aladdin, Toy Story, Little Mermaid, Jungle Book, etc lame. They have endless content that is just classic. Classic family. Classic fun. It's not Universal's fault really, but they don't have a lot of classic content. Dr. Seuss is kind of classic, but it's third rate compared to Disney's classic. Disney is just the king of content.

Something newer that impressed me was the new Maleficent.
