Disney Treasure, DCL’s 6th ship, debuts in 2024

I believe the agreement is 2 of the Wish class ships must be home ported in Port Canaveral

That would mean that the agreement has only been in place since the Wish class was announced. But I think the agreement between DCL and PC goes back much farther than that.

EDIT: I was half right/half wrong. There was an agreement in place long before the Wish class announcement and that agreement was slated to last until 2027. However, in 2019, a new agreement was reached to replace the old one. So it is possible that the new agreement calls for 2 Wish-class ships to be home-ported there. The new agreement also allows for a 3rd DCL ship to use PC as its home port. So maybe the Treasure will simply join the Wish and Fantasy year-round in Port Canaveral.

From Disney Parks Blog:

This Disney Treasure update is coming to you from Celebration, Florida, the headquarters for Disney Cruise Line. Today, the Disney Cruise Line team is thrilled to be debuting an artist rendering of the ship’s stern for the very first time! For 25 years, each ship in the fleet has been adorned with characters from beloved Disney stories. The Disney Treasure will follow this tradition with its own signature character sculptures that honor the ship’s motif of adventure, Peter Pan and Captain Hook. Harnessing the power of Tinker Bell’s pixie dust, Peter Pan will levitate next to the Disney Treasure to add the finishing touch to the ship’s stern filigree. Meanwhile, Peter Pan’s longtime rival, Captain Hook can be seen leaning out a porthole with a vengeful expression on his face. Paintbrush and paint bucket in hand, Peter Pan sports a mischievous grin as he glances back at Captain Hook, who is dripping in yellow paint.

There's not an unreasonable opportunity for them to make some adaptations to this vessel based on guest feedback. Unlike Say NCL Prima/Viva which were too back to back to modify a single thing.

DCL does not seem unique to 'reception' troubles of the first in class vessel. I'm sure with time it will be more highly regarded. Like we've seen with those other lines the pricing froth has dropped off once they pivot to their second in class. RCL's Icon being something forthcoming that's also quite a price jump currently.

Looks awesome.

I am just holding out on this Haunted Mansion Bar and I think I'll be there on day 1

From what I’ve read, the Treasure is a basically a carbon copy of the Wish. If they don’t fix the design flaws, it will receive the same criticisms. And I don’t expect Disney to back off on pricing at all with this.
