We finna get double dips left and right.
Don't hold your breath... the original plan looks to be Triton Class to CC and older ships to LP.

Factor in up to 5 ships in Florida a week with some doing shorter itineraries and visiting an island twice a week they are going to be at capacity quite quickly. LP is only being built because CC doesn't have the capacity to have a cruise ship there 7 days a week. Making more cruises double dips will mean they need a third island!

At a guess I could see the least popular cruises... for example 7 day Magic or Dream from Fort Lauderdale off-peak getting double dips to induce demand.

How are you getting 5 ships in Florida?

There will be 6 in the fleet.

In the summer, one is in Alaska and one is in Europe.

In the winter, one is in Galveston/New Orleans/San Juan and one is in San Diego/Australia.

@wdwmagic

Some maiden voyage pricing info is on the website that I don't know if I've seen reported yet.

Starts Easten Carribbean to Tortula, St. Thomas, and Castaway Cay. No mentioned of Lighthouse Point.

Starting prices for 2 and 4 are also below.

EDITED after seeing I had some pricing for 12.28 sailing included mistakenly

I don’t know how it’s laughable that the adult area is ridiculously small or that walkways on deck 11 are narrow when there are lines for the eateries and bars. Or they seemingly used more real estate for premium shopping than standard shopping. Or that I can’t make a loop of the ship on deck 4 anymore. That’s not anything being overblown, those are facts. We’re almost done with kids clubs so that aspect holds little pull with us in the near future. I’m just not as impressed by DCL, particularly when I can look back on some menus from 2019-2020 and they are the same today. But to each his own. And I know they won’t miss me.

And for the record, I do have a cruise booked next year with friends. They are the only reason we’re booked on DCL next.
Hi. Honestly have you been on the Wish? First... I DO get your criticism of the ship. Some of it is spot on but some comes across a little bit of... Ax to grind?

The elevators are a serious flaw. Not just the fact that they didn't have buttons, which they have now corrected, but also just how long a narrow they are. If you're in the back of the elevator and it's your floor, everyone has to get off so that you can get off.

No wraparound promenade deck was also a design choice that probably should not have been made.

Lots of pools but mostly just wading pools. And a severe lack of hot tubs for the adults, unless you are concierge, then you get two just for concierge. Although I've seen some pictures that indicate the Treasure is correcting this.

I do think the small adult area is more reflective of the fact that when you go to the adult area on the dream, the wonder, the fantasy, or the magic, it's pretty desolate after 10:00 or 11:00 p.m. almost no one is there. It's not the case that Disney Cruise line has great nightlife. They do have some great nightlife facilities but they never really turn out to facilitate a great nightlife experience. I was on a 6th night cruise, thanks to a hurricane, on the Disney Wish most of it was spent at sea. We had one day in Nassau and one day at the private island. So four Seasons days on the ship. I honestly, and perhaps even surprisingly, did not find myself missing the larger adult district.

Food on the upper decks was largely an upgrade compared to the rest of the fleet. Marceline market is expansive but overall about the same type of experience that cabanas can offer. However the auxiliary food offerings on the top deck, the Wishes Carnival of Foods absolutely exceeds the current standard on the other ships.

For rotational dining I would say the wish is second to the magic class. Dream and fantasy are the weak link when it comes to rotational dining. Dream They have the weaker version of animators palette and the secret garden is just.... Eh. For the main rotational dining I would say the original magic class still do it best. They have the best version of animators palette and honestly there dinner show experiences in both tangled and most especially Tiana, for better than arendelle on the wish. I'll be interested to see how Coco turns out on the treasure.

Overall I would say the Triton class is the weakest link of the three classes of ships. I'm a platinum cruiser with DCL so like so many others I tend to like the older class better. That doesn't make the newer class inferior and certainly doesn't make it a failure.

One of the improvements that everyone seems to like on the treasure is the lobby, the grand hall if you will. Me not so much, I find it way too dark.

Don't quote me on this because a lot of this was agreed years ago and maybe things have changed post COVID but...

a) The deal with Fort Lauderdale was that they would have one ship sailing for the first few years increasing to a second ship (400,000 guests per annum increasing to 750,000... so one Dream then one Magic?)
b) Disney will also be sharing Terminal 10 at Port Canaveral when it has 2 ship departing on the same day, assuming this is once the Triton 3 arrives

If this is the case it could mean having 5 ships in Florida at some points of the year which feels like a lot but was what they have agreed to do.
Most of the line in Florida from November through April is common among other lines so it makes sense here. There are more options outside Florida in the summer, of course.

Lol…I looked at the prices…now I’ll move on😎
Same! Does that come with a drink package and butler?

And yet the financials on DCL have not been what I thought they would be. 2022 proved to be one of the worst years in Disney Cruise line history with a loss of over 300 million. Not reduced profit but actual loss of 300 plus million.

I'm scratching my head on that.

For what it's worth the prices are for a cruise over Christmas so it was going to be expensive. But yeah, media is going to pick up on the high starting prices and people will probably be turned off before quoting other more reasonably* priced dates.

*Reasonably in terms of Disney pricing because it's still going to be very expensive compared to competitors

That might have been Covid related…the major carriers didn’t really get “back” until 2023…now they’re packed.

It’s a nice Cruise line. But it’s at least 200% the competitors. Not just the “mid level” (royal and Norwegian)…but sometimes the more luxury leaning lines.

Dcl is very nice…you just have to judge how much a meet and greet with Minnie costs?

You know what's funny?

I priced out wonder of the seas for next summer the other day. Disaster. 😂 didn’t used to get sticker shock.

And yeah, DCL over Christmas Day is always crazy.

RCCL is way up from what the prices have been for along time…

…but still.

Wonder is ridiculously sized. Like “wow”

Exactly. It's also why I don't think we'll see anything significant changed for the third ship that's only a year behind (unless I missed an update to 2026).
Nope…other class ships sometimes has some swapping out/repurposing of smaller venues that don’t involve major structural redesign…but not anything to change overall layout

Shocked they didn’t retheme Wonderland and Neverland.

I just expected more spaces to be different than Wish. Kid spaces being exactly the same is also a surprise. Did they have a skeleton crew at WDI on this?

Yes, last September just before Ian, which is why my critiques of it are very specific. We went in with high hopes and were significantly let down with what we experienced. I've been on every current DCL ship except the Magic, which will happen next year.

The adult area I'm referring to is the adult-only area on decks 12-13 on the Dream/Fantasy/Wish. Compare the Satellite Falls area with what the Wish has and it's not even close. The room for the Arendelle show was just poorly designed, with so many tables that have half the table with their back to the show, or having to crane your neck to see (plus having to see around the columns for some tables). I don't know how they'd fix that.

What Disney calls "brisket" on the Wish is anything but. It's ... smoked ham, maybe? But brisket it ain't. The pizza place was overwhelmed most of our cruise and only had slices readily available in the evenings, otherwise unless you were there right when a new pizza was put out you were waiting. I'm not sure why that was the case. I had no issues with Marceline Market outside of the odd placement of cups for soda. It did feel a bit cramped but that was commonplace for us on the Wish. I also do not like Disney BGM 24x7 and much prefer the background music on the Dream and Fantasy. I don't need Disney music playing everywhere to remind me of what cruise line I'm on. We appreciated some of the changes in the stateroom, like the shelving next to the closets, the bathroom felt slightly larger than the ones on the Dream/Fantasy for the same class of stateroom, and the lights that automatically come on when you open the closet doors.
